We do not need another Sports channel.  Leave Speed alone.  They do need to add more restoration type shows on there though.  Maybe move Graveyard Cars on it so that I can watch it. Also, I'd move the Powerblock on there as well.   I'd lose Pimp my Ride and My Ride Rules.  I'm not much for Pinks.  Pass Time is good to watch.  I'm waiting for the new season of Gearz and HotRod.  Those two are about my only favorites.

Don't they realize you can't fix what ain't broke.  But, they seem to allows try. :brickwall:  I'll guess I'll just wait and see what happens :popcrn:

I'm thinking of just throwing the dish out for the trashman anyway.

Eighty seven bazzillion channels and nothing to watch...

That show rendered itself unwatchable the minute they started spewing that

The problem is for me, I do not believe anything around me covers Velocity. I can't get in on cable, and I am pretty sure my mom doesn't have it on Direct tv.  :shruggy:

Not much for Fast and Loud.  Cars are fair, but that's about it.  It's more of a moron's guide to car dealing than an actual car show (my opinion).

Chop Cut Rebuild is alright.  I think it's more of what can "Dan screw up on which car today?" than a realistic car building show.

Velocity isn't available through Fidelity cable. :flame:

My ideal car tv show would be an 1 hour show.  First off, there will only be 1 commercial break halfway through.  If companies want mentioned, they'll put thier products on the show. (I'm tired of watching an Edelbrock or Magnaflow this or that installed, then go to commercial and see the same thing.)  2nd, the tech section will be done in a more realistic setting with real world tools.  You'll see busted knuckles, greasy hands, and a few choice words used every once in a while.  When it's done, you'll have a realistic idea of how to do the project. 3rd, there will be an appropriate (inappropriate :D) dressed gal giving automotive detailing instructions for about 8 mins. :naughty:  New car test drives will be done by real world people in real world situations.  The rest of the show would be with additional appropriately dressed models at car shows, driver/ owner/ mechanic profiles (modern and historical), and an introduction to all types of international motorsports.

Who'd watch or would add/ change my type of show.

So, nobody wants another Speed Channel. Too many Drama based Car shows today? Wonder why the ratings go throguh the ROOF every time they are on? Hmmmm, Every year there are even Barret Jackson "parties" at folk's houses. Drama sells. Bring it on, we need as many dumbasses into these cars as possible so every time you guys get on EvilBay, there sits another one for sale at some rediculous price tag cause Fast and Loud said it was worth a fortune. :2thumbs:

same guy that does "a car is reborn"  mark Evans  has a show called "project rescue" where he helps fix peoples  abandoned projects  in their own sheds mostly pommy cars but not a bad concept/show

Yea that was when fox bought them. The got rid of all the WRC and motorcycle based programming so I dumped them.

Velocity is good but this past year lacked good WRC/Motorcycle stuff. I hope it comes back.   :-\

The "problem" is that there is somewhat of a glut of "nuts and bolts" car shows. Speed has Gearz, Trucks, etc. Spike still has their powerblock informercial deal, and now velocity is getting in on that with Wheeler Dealers, Girls Garage (my new favorite :icon_smile_big: ) and a couple of others.

Then there are the "reality" shows: CCR, Chasing Classic Cars, Fast n Loud, the Jesse James show (whatever it was called). The History Channel also has a car show or two plus the Top Gear behemoths (yes, im also including TG USA).

Looks like Velocity has the better - ie. higher production value - car shows and it keeps adding more.

what's my point here? That we car guys are essentially a niche market and it's spread out all over the place. In an ideal world, we would have all of those shows - minus a couple of the crappier ones that should get dumped and the bad filler like the Mother's Presents...____ stuff- in one kick ass Gearhead channel. With Speed gone, the "market" for such shows is contracting - which is a good thing. And really, these shows tend to bounce around from network to network in some way or another. You can bet you'll be seeing Stacy David's mullet doing some version of his show on Spike or Velocity if Speed dumps all the car shows.

Speed is mostly about NASCAR. And really, Do we need a 3 hour pre-race show and a 2 hour post race show every week? Maybe for the Daytona 500 and the championship race, but not for Kansas and Michigan. That being said, it's only a matter of time before NASCAR gets its own 24/7 channel, and now that F1 is off to NBC, it really doesn't have a marquee series. The Australian V8's and ALMS is fun to watch, but the audience is too small to prop the network up. Hopefully NBC Sports or some network like that picks them up though.
