voltage cluster limiter ( 5 volts ) the empty prong is for condenser to get the power peaks

1 and 2... accesories fused sources. all 71/72s got 2 sources, 73 and lates just one. This is due the long list of accesories got in 71/72
more than 73/74. Here you plugs stuff like trunk release button, AC clutch, rear deffog, etc...

3... If wire is brown traced yellow it is NSS ground source to light on NSS stuff related. Dunno what the hell would make on 71s, but on 72s will work together with seatbelt warning signals, once you gear your car and you don't have fastened your seatbelt.

4... lights on warning buzzer provision. It plugs and intermediate harness there to reach then the buzzer what attachs on underdash frame between ashtray and glovebox

5... it looks to be the extra wiring harness for cornering lamps on C bodies. Mostly sure the turning switch was replaced for a new replacement which provides these by default no matter what car goes.

6... just a splice to still keep 3 sources for cluster dimmer functions when using one. I guess the wire with the splice is for console shifter light. Since a FULLY EQUIPPED 71 could use 4 provisions for rear deffog switch, Ramcharger switch, headlamp washers switch and console, this is the extra for one of these. 72s and lates would never use more than 3 ( Ramcharger was not an option anymore )

7... concelead system provision. This is the trigger provision to lift up the hideaways.

8... looks to be the emergency brake wire to light on the cluster brake light

9... dome light plug

Thanks Nacho..I knew you would know!....
So the empty prong....do I leave it empty or is there a wire for the condenser that I need to plug in?

Nacho-RT74

condenser comes with wire and terminal.

sorry, not just for power peaks, also for noises on electrical system, disturbing anything on power

NEED TO ASK... IS THE EMPTY TERMINAL A MALE OR A FEMALE ? pics is something blurry, it looks is female and I could note WRONG the function there.

if a female, thats the 5 volts source for the guages. You feed all gauges ( oil, gas, temp ) from there.

PLEASE DON'T GIVE POWER TO CLUSTER GAUGES FROM A DIFFERENT SOURCE THAN THE FEMALE PRONG ON LIMITER. will burn out gauges!

the dual male prong linked like an U shape is where the condenser and power coming from fuse box is plugged in

here is the wire what feeds all gauges from that terminal:
