Did you have any issues/problems with it being too firm resulting in the finsished seat being too high or uncomfortable?

Lord Warlock

not on the one seat i replaced with mine,  seems as good as the stock seat does,  I replaced the drivers seat cushion as the old original seat had torn and the foam had shredded under the tear,  today you can't tell the difference between the passenger and the drivers seat.
69 RT/SE Y3 cream yellow w/tan vinyl top and black r/t stripe. non matching 440/375, 3:23, Column shift auto w/buddy seat, tan interior, am/fm w/fr to back fade, Now wears 17" magnum 500 rims and Nitto tires. Fresh repaint, new interior, new wheels and tires.

Thats how mine felt at first but I quickly learned to like it.  It's a big change to go from 40 year old worn out stuff to firm and new.

i found the legendary seat foam , was completely different to my SE originals , was thinking being a SE different type of foam cause of leather  or different supplier ,  used my original foam but put a extra layer on , still got the new ones in the garage up top  :yesnod:

Are they not a higher density than the originals?  Are they even the same type of foam?  For that matter is the original stuff possibly not legal?  Just throwing those out because I really have no idea.  (although for some reason it does seem like I read or heard somewhere that it was higher density for some reason :shruggy:)

I replaced my buckets foam years ago with Legendary and only recall the difference being old & worn out vs new and firm. No issues to speak of.

wish i would of taken a lot more pictures now , when i done my resto  ( this was long before every one had digital cameras )

the legendary foam was just like two  blocks of white high density foam ,
my originals were like two squishy foam peices  ,  the actual shape of the seat all be it slightly bigger than the seat cover , perhaps its a SE thing ? but the foam was original  :yesnod:

When I did mine, the foam felt firmer than the old stuff but I figured the old stuff was worn out and broken down. (thats why I was replacing it haha)  It had bad dandruff so I never thought much about the old foam other than it being time for it go.  The new one could be greatly different in composition but there really wasn't much way I could compare it to my new one.
Either way, I'm still glad I replaced it.

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen.  I appreciate it.  I'm going to give Legendary a try.  I'm sure I'll break my seat in soon enough and my wife,,,, can always sit on a pillow.
