I'm looking for a place that restores the gauge clusters and actually re-chromes the rings around the gauges, dash vents, and instrument cluster itself. I want quality and shiny chrome, not silver paint! anybody have any places in mind that they have used before of know of? I've heard of justdashes so far but not sure how good they are

Instrument specialities are awesome!  Trust me, you will choke when you get a price quote.

For my 69 on the dash bezels.  I used Performance Car Graphics, better pricing along with quality work.

Does anybody have any reviews on any of these dash/gauge restoration places? I have the complete dash out of the car and I'm ready to crate it and ship it. Im wanting to have the gauges refaced and the chrome redone around the instrument and a/c panels. Also I need a new black dash pad put on. Which places are the best and which ones should I stay away from it any? thanks in advance!

The best by far is instrument specialties.  Complete turn key dash is going to cost a minimum of 6k or more from them.  So if money is no object they are a great choice.  I had parts done by them and seen their complete turn key dashes in person, along with friends that had them done as well. No complaints other than cost.

I have also used performance car graphics for dash parts and other items.  They do quality work as well and are slightly cheaper than instrument specialties.

I was told the car had a 400 in it when I bought it... evidently has a 1964 dated coded 383..anybody need an old 383?

hmm 6 grand is a lot more than I was wanting to spend on the dash. . if I bought a new dash pad will it fit my original dash good or do they tend to fit crappy?

I agree as well in relation to 6k.  For example, I sent my bezels to get restored and everything else I tested and restored myself.  Hard to say for that style of dash pad, in the past I used just dashes to recover my upper door pads.  They did a great job but I am not sure on that 3rd gen dash pad.  As far as a new pad, I am sure some 3rd gen owners will chime in on that for you!

nice looking SE! mine came with a white vinyl top but its going to be black as well when I am done with it. . whos a good vendor to use for the correct grain black top on a 72 se and how about good black seat covers that aren't defective or have poor quality buttons like ive seen in the past! some black covers ive seen are more "dull" appearing in color..one charger I have came with new covers that were a "brighter" black color..anyone know where you can get those?

6K to restore a dash ? That seems awfully high. Can someone confirm that ?

Call Instrument Specialties.  My quote was for a 69 B body dash to be completely concours restored w/o additional parts(gauges, switches, etc.) their rough quote was 6k with the possibility of being more.

They are just a phone call away.
