Not really interested in the vert. But the roadrunner intrigues me. 383 car 4 speed # matching, runs. Both cars are buried in a barn and have been since the late 70's. Guy is 75 and says its time to part ways. He initially wanted to sell as a pair for 10grand but when asked he said he would take 6 for the bird. I'm sure 5 will take it. I'm mostly a ford guy and just dont know what to look for on this car. He said its complete and comes with some extras but the quarters and trunk is fairly rusty. Any help guys

Yep, I will be getting them and posting. Just dont know what to look for on these cars. I'm not going to buy it on my trip to view it. Just want to know what to look for like what areas are prone to rusting. How do yo decode and such?

The usual rust- trunk floor and extensions, lower quarters, around the rear windows, floor  pand depending on where you are and if it's been relatively dry storage.
Worse rust- frame, usually in the back where the rear spring hangers are located, lower front rails under the cowl, tortion bar cross member.  The cowl itself can be nasty too.
For the 70 it wouldn't be a killer, AMD had a lot of what you'd need.  It's just how much can you do or how much do you want to spend?  The 67 will be harder to do, rust wise because there's not as much repro stuff available.
For decoding the VIN or the fender tag, check here- http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=17

Good luck, and take lots of pics for us!

If they have been in a barn since the 70's the floors and frame rails have to be toast. Most barns have dirt floors?

Basically anything on the underside of the car, from the axle to the tailpanel. Also the torsion bar area close to the rockers..If these areas are solid then its much more likly that all the lesser areas are also rust free.

if its not a total rust bucket and you can get it for 5 k  thats a steal   :Twocents:

Your not from my part of Indiana because all the old barns I have been in have had dirt floors!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Pole barns and bank barns have the bottoms dirt. But other than that I do foreclosure work and have to clean out at least 50 a year. Run  into a few dirt every now and then though. Usually the cement is covered in 3' of crap though

Interested in seeing some pics of these. Around this part of Indiana (central but south of indy) most of the barns are dirt floors. Although a large chunk of them are concrete too just typically covered in dirt/manure.
