First, you know coming out of Canada, it's rusty.
Second, It's in Canada. (Customs)
Third, It's a Convertible (Bathtub and leaks)
Fourth, How do we know he hasn't had to deal with lowballers and is fed up?

I watched I don't know How many GOOD Mopars/Chevies/Fords go to the crusher becasue Scrap prices were up. Whoda thunk it? Crush meant more than Ebay.

I even chased down a tow truck with a 1968 Satellite on the back that had about a quarter sized rust hole in the rear on driver's side. Dude would'nt budge. I told him he MIGHT see $400.00 IF he removed the fuel tank, wheels and tires. I offered him $500.00 and his remark told me that their are some out there that are so fed up with the Bullsh*t that comes along with selling one of these antique cars, they'd rather take a video of it being crushed and send it to the lowballers than deal with trying to sell it, even at a profit. Believe it or not. He said "No, I'm gonna ,mash this thing. If I have to deal with one more person and this car!"

:iagree:

There's your answer, right there.

71green go

I work In Guelph where the car is being sold...and I have never seen it advertised before......so I am not sure How fed up he is, but certainly if ya cant get $20,000 for it maybe offering it for less at $15,000 will move it...Instead of crushing it  :shruggy:

Old Moparz

Neat car, but I'm not a fan of cars that need EVERYTHING anymore.

Okay, so instead of being an idiot, he's an impatient idiot.  That makes it all better.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

It not a low ball if someone is offering him more than what the scrap yard is giving him.

So the person who sends it off to scrap for 500 bucks for example and someone comes up and offers 600 right before the scrapper and he turns it down then its not a low ball is it.

Some people like to be abused emotionally and in this case people who say that are just abusing themselves  :brickwall:

In the end they can do whatever they want, right, I say go for it take it to the scrapper in fact let me video tape it with you too.

If the Offer of $600.00 is made by someone when the car's previous asking price BEFORE the Scrapper comment was made, was around say $30K, then EVEN AT $600.00 when scrap is at $500.00, IT'S STILL A LOW BALL OFFER. He was asking $30K you offered $600.00. Low ball. Afterall, the scrapper comment is intended to keep people like this OUT OF THE AD, yet they still show up.That is why the scrapper comment was put in there.  Clearly, the "I'll scrap it" comment won't get any low ballers to step up, put on their big boy pants, and make a real offer on this thing...About all it WILL do is cause the afore meantioned comments. We all know WHY this comment is made, but we like to act as if we don't so when we make dumbass remarks about crushing it, they seem to hold more water when in fact, they are just as idiotic as the scrapper comment.  These types like to think here AGAIN, they will change the sellers mind by attempting to Tell him/her that their price is too high, CRAZY, etc. When they themselves are just as stupid for attempting to change sellers mind on pricing.. Stupidity runs rampant and IS contagious. I'm not gonna tell this seller he/she is crazy for asking his/her price. They will find out sooner or later when it doesn't sell. A seller on EvilBay that doesn't check on current pricing to guage the market IMO, is just as dumb as someone who Naively, and blindly buys an antique car for huge money, without having an expert with them when purchased.

I wonder what ever happened to "If you have a Beer Paycheck, maybe you shouldn't even be looking at a Bottle of Cristal Champagne....
" I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours researching what works and what doesn't and I'm willing to share"

Ghoste

If you offer an item for sale you are going to get lowballed, period.  Thats a fact.  Its the way the game is played.  You will get far far far far more lowball offers than the ones you consider reasonable.  You will get almost none that think you are asking too little and offer you more than your price.  Many of these lowball offers will be ridiculously low.  Its just the way it is and if that undeniable fact of trade in a free market economy is so distasteful to anyone that they feel a need to destroy the item instead as some moronic act of defiance and revenge then they maybe are too thin skinned for that playground? :shruggy:

Cooter

It's that type of thiniking that has caused ALOT of good cars to rot in fields.......
(Surely, no one is gonna overpay by leaps and bounds, but realistic offers on what's being sold)..

I wonder when the "low ballers" that tend to think "That's the way the game is played" are gonna realize the next time I hear someone bi*ching about how they can't buy this car because the owner refuses to sell it and it will rot in that field??

King me, your move.

I just replied to the ad and said, '' give it to me and I will crush it" waiting for a response... ( I would not crush it by the way)

Ghoste

I wasn't setting you up for debate Cooter, I'm just trying to point out that it's useless to bitch about lowballers because they are not going to go away.  If you are selling something you ARE going to get lowballed.  I never once said I liked it.
