I LOVE my '69 Charger. What items do you think really make the car (Likes) and what items would you like changed ?I will start.
Likes:
The shape of the body
The four speed shifter
The tail lights and the tailpanel blackout
The hood scallops
The recessed back glass
The bumble bee stripe
Dislikes:
No 15" wheel option for non Hemi cars
I like the exhaust tips but like the oval roadrunner ones better
I wish the side reflectors were lit
I wish the shoulder seat belts were more useable and comfortable.

I built a 1969 Charger that actually had the side markers lit. Custom of course, but looked great.

Like:

1. Attention
2. Look on little kids faces
3. Power
4. Sale Money

Dislikes:
1. T-bar suspension. (I'da had coils with independant and Rack and Pinion Steering for more header/engine clearance)
2. 8 3/4 rear. for anything without the 4-speed and Hemi/440
3.

if i had a 69,i would have to put a 68 grill, tail lights ,rear valance & the factory illuminated side markers.  :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:
but the best thing would be to build a daytona COPY,  :yesnod: :drool5:

The console side light rubs the side of my mid thigh.....really uncomfortable. I carry a small piece of foam rubber now as a cushion.

love everything about second generations   :yesnod:   :drool5:  & all muscle mopars are awesome in their own way   :drool5:

as for my own 69 ,  not wanting to up set fellow Charger R/T SE owners , no offence intended , you guys know i love all these cars  :drool5:     , but the SE name plate on the C pillar/ sail panel looks sort of out of place , that together with wood grain dash , IMO , less of a muscle car well not really , cant really explain it  :icon_smile_blackeye:  ,  was really tempted to put Charger name plates on the sail panels , when i done the resto on mine &  just the black pebble grain dash ,  :scratchchin:  :yesnod:

I hate how they are unibodies. I wish they were a full frame car.  It would make things much easier!!

Numb steering & skinny steering wheel
Unsolicited "Is your car for sale?" inquiries

"Sure is. I've been asking $100,000,000. I'm a little short of walkin' around money this week and need the garage space... I'd take $85,000,000 today."

Most of the stuff I dislike has already been tossed. One dislike I can offer is the lack of forethought that went into the grilles. Sure, they look cool but seriously... could they have been made from something other than eggshells and aluminum foil? My 68 grille grew cracks sitting in the garage and not even being driven.

A ram air intake of some kind- I know it was hard with that hood but something like the Olds under bumper method might have worked

Worse than a brick. It has a parachute between the hood and bumper.

I have to remember the car is 40 years old.  It does not have many of the refinements todays cars have.

1. The seats stink.

2. Drum brakes.

3. A lawn mower engine as a A/C compressor.

4. Ugly selection of wheels.

5. No cup holders.  :icon_smile_big:

its so damn hot in the car when i drive it. im not sure if its the heat comming up from the headers or what. its always been like that. its very uncomfortable to drive if its really hot out.

On MY 69?  I wish it had a trunk floor, dutchman panel and quarters that hadn't partially dissolved!
Other than that I'm good!

1) There is a possibility that you have a fair part to do with that smell..... Quit eating beans helps alot.
2) Yeah I've always tought they bought their compressors from Harley Davidson..... but maybe thats how it was in those days...

Agreed with all of the above but number 5 is by far the worst!

My dislikes are just those little details but I can't think of a single thing that makes the car less than amazing to drive.

Build quality is pretty poor but what car wasn't in those days.

It've said it before & i'll say it again. It's that divider in the center of the grille that gets to me.

My 69 has the best of both worlds. It's has the cool 69 taillights, but has no center divider in the grille  :icon_smile_big:

Likes:
1) The overall body shape of 2nd Gen Charger, specifically:
    a) The in-set cockpit area with the wide door tops.
    b) The long angled lines of the C-pillar.
    c) The arching high rear settling down into the lower front.
    d) The tail panel flip.
2) Full instumentation !
3) The flush mounted metal grille (Plastic grilles =  :flush: )

Dislikes:
1) Defroster function (not that it matters today, but back when I drove one every day).
2) Front drum brakes (every 2nd gen I've owned has had drum brakes  :brickwall: )
3) Retrieving or placing the spare tire in the truunk.
