I have 2 gm (cheby) trucks. Both have the same problem , popping the hood. It's always a hassle. They don't pop. Pull the lever inside walk around to the front and try to "force" open , doesn't work ,repeat , etc. Is there an adjustment for these? Both 1996 , S10 and full size pick up. PIA . Thanks

my sons blazer does the same thing. you have to tap with your fist just to the left of the center. i used p b blaster on it and it helped. but you have to keep doing it every month.

Replace the hood cable, it stretches over time and that's why it does not want to release the latch, I have done more than I care to think about.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

that makes sense. :yesnod: so simple, guess you wouldnt think the metal strand would stretch that much.  :scratchchin:

Cable is stretched.  Replace it.  Btw, while your at the dealership buy a shift cable for the full size truck.  It will snap soon.   :yesnod:

Thisa seems to be a lost art anymore. NOBODY lubes the Latch mechanism anymore. I see this daily, then the hood cable simply Stretches/breaks due to some idiot just pulling on it like that's gonna help or something. It is NOT the hood cable.

Sorry Cooter but I have sprayed too many latches down for that to never work, The hood cable stretches over time plain and simple seen it time and time again.

Ok, but sorry to you cause he's evidently repaired it without a cable....
