Hey gang...
Went by the shop today to kill some time and took some pics....

She's getting closer....

3rd picture... Weird place to be rusted, but it appears the window was open slightly and cause moisture accumulation under the seat there.. No big deal, had a b-body floor pan section available in perfect shape......

What are those 6-pack air cleaner lids doing in your car?  You should sue...    :P

Looking good, and getting closer!

When it gets done it'll make it easier to swing a trade for a Daytona, but I still wonder if you'll be able to get rid of that Hemi ride after all...

:2thumbs:

Hey Marcel !!!

Well, the long block is basically done. I shoved the camshaft in Friday night and now I'm going to clean up my timing chain cover and install the chain and dampner.....

Looks like it is coming along nicely Troy.

So when you get it done are you going to keep it, or still try some way to swing a Daytona out of a deal? It is going to be a gorgeous car when you get done with it, and plus it is a HEMI. Hard to let go of that, but for a wing car I'd consider it. But that is just me.

Welcome to the site there Johntpr, nice picture in your avitar.

Looks Good Troy! Are you going to paint it Turquoise again?

I'll always open the doors of opportunity when it comes to a Daytona.... But, who knows.... I'm not compromising one bit on this restoration to the extreme I can afford....

Nice progress. Looks like you got off pretty well on the sheet metal worries.

Yes, the car was in great shape for a Charger.. Typical stuff except the floorpans and rear window area was in great shape.. Whew !!!!
main sheetmetal replaced are the trunk floors, quarter extensions, bottom section of the quarters, rear valance with the end caps.... We were so anal about the sheetmetal for detail that I even measured the gaps between the end gaps and the rear valance and asked Smitty to duplicate the differences.. One side was 1/16 of a gap and the other side was 1/8th.... lol

Lookin' good Troy! That is one pf my favorite colors for 68 Chargers. There was one in my hometown that was that color with white vinyl roof, stripe and interior. The car was stunning! I'm sure yours will be just as purrty!
