Just did an overnight there at the Best Western by I-90.  Guess I should have been more aware of things when taking the dog out.  You never know.......

Hehehe that's like the 3500lb shark we had in the water not 3 blocks from my house last month.    If we keep radio tagging large predators like this, we're going to find out real quick how close we never knew we were to getting eaten by something unpleasant :)

I would be more comfortable with a grizzly, cuz I have seen them up close and have helped a bear specialist take some vitals on a female grizzly and put on a colar to track her area of travel.  I have had to post signs on private lands that had upto six grizzzlies on 1 square mile, just on perfect area for bears to stay during the hot months of summer.  One area I worked on had 11 grizzlies on year due to the extremely hot and dry summer.  That was one year the hunters stayed away from until the bears denned up.  These grizzlies would follow the archery hunters after figuring out that the hunters would leave gut piles after harvesting their deer.  One hunter was followed out of the woods and left his deer cuz the bear was not going to share.

A white shark I think I would stay out of the water.

I read that article a few days back, and was surprised to read the shark was just off our coast here in Jacksonville FL.  Just reinforces my decision to stay out of the surf around here.  I used to body surf off the gulf coast beaches as a teen, until i found out a world record bull shark was caught right where i was about six hours before.  Gave up body surfing and found other ways to have fun instead....i.e. 69 chargers and muscle cars.

Nope...I watched it a few times and they are just crazy or at least the ones on the platform with the sharks.
