Reading WAY too much into something like this  . . . it's not exactly unique to the Muslim world.



Last summer Rush Limbaugh was complaining with a straight face that the "Bane" villian in the new Batman movie was a reference to something in Mitt Romney's corporate life.  

I guess nobody told him that the character has been around for decades, the filmmakers of the recent Batman shows actually have conservative leanings, and they started working on that movie years before Romney was even chosen as the candidate.



Not to take this topic into American politics.  
I'm just saying some people are always finding goofy things to get offended about, regardless of the culture.

I for one would really like an "ask a Muslim" thread. I feel the need to understand them.

I learned all I cared to know about them on Sept 11, 2001. There is nothing else they need to say as far as I'm concerned.

You don't have to believe that their culture has all the same tolerance & good points as ours.  But that culture is hundreds of millions of people.  They are not all suicide bombers.

Anyways lets explain it like this. You know the bible right? Old Testament, New Testament. Islam is the same way. You have the Qur'an. It's split up into two parts, the Old Qur'an and the New Qur'an.

The Old Qur'an is peaceful. Mohammed was at peace and preached peace. Then he went bonkers and wrote the New Qur'an. The Newest one preached violence to those who aren't Muslim. He wrote that the new Qur'an superseded the old Qur'an and the old one doesn't count anymore.

But you still have people of the Islamic faith who believe the violent New Qur'an doesn't count. These are the people who want peace. Then you have the radicals who believe the peaceful Old Qur'an is a joke and blindly follow the New Qur'an. These are those doing the terrorist acts.

Yes Orthodox is a form of Christianity but there are differences between Christianity and Orthodox Christianity. Just like Roman Catholic is a form of Christianity but there are differences.

The Hagia Sophia was an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral from 537–1204, Catholic Church Cathedral 1204–1261, back to an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral 1261–1453, then an Imperial Mosque 1453–1931. It's currently a museum.

Just something my teacher had said back in Law when we were studying the Klu-Klux-Klan.

If it's not true then oh well.

The KKK is classified as a terrorist organization according to the FBI. And the KKK is a Christian Terrorist Organization.

And if you want proof that the Klu-Klux-Klan are "Christian terrorists"... the KKK's goal is to "reestablish Protestant Christian values in America by any means possible," and they use terrorist acts to do so. They burned crosses not only to scare people but also signified their beliefs in Jesus who died upon the cross.

Then you have the Army of God who blow up abortion clinics and crap like that all because they believe abortion is a sin. Then you have the Lambs of Christ.

Read the book Inside Terrorism by Hoffman. Talks all about Religious Terrorism and talks about the KKK, Lambs of Christ, Army of God, as well as the Islamic terrorists. It's required reading in some courses.

This report, "Counterterrorism Threat Assessment and Warning Unit National Security Division", doesn't talk about the KKK but does talk about a couple other Terrorist groups with Christian values.

Terrorist organizations always try to align themselves with widely-supported mainstream things like religions & nationalities.  It's standard procedure with groups like that.  You see it worldwide, past and present.

Thought you might like to read this letter to the editor of a British national newspaper. Ever notice how some people just seem to know how to write a letter?.   
Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!


Written by a housewife, to her daily newspaper. This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores in July 2002, and in New York Sept 112001 and have continually threatened to do so since?

Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day in Washington, and in downtown Manhattan ,  and in a field in Pennsylvania ?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of Nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I'll care when the British media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a British soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take this to the bank:

I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner - who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special food' that is paid for by my taxes - is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, believe me!! You guessed it ........
