I'd have never known it needed work otherwise.  Whew!  Crisis averted!

There's your Cheap Musclecar. A little elbow grease and some parts, and your good to go.

Cooter... you can't be serious. ???  How about a HUGE sum of money, an enormous amount of skill, and a few years worth of work.  :brickwall: :brickwall:

That car is a pile of shit.

Shoot I agree with Cooter.  Think how clean that engine must be on the inside with all those years of rainwater going into the carb.   I bet it's spotless!

the catch 22 is.. even the obvious must be stated nowadays, because otherwise someone will call wanting one of them "smoky & the bandit" cars in running great shape for the $700 asking price.

Obviously, this is the one for you right? I mean, EVERYTHING seems to be overpriced today, as well as someone's ALWAYS making a profit [As if that hasn't been done before...Ever?]..Well, here's a small investment and all you need is the drive to get-r-done. Just think of all the looks you'll get when it's done.
I bet I could have that Trans Am DONE for under $15K all said and done. Of course, I can do most, if not all my own work and don't have to pay for it.

i think the only person that would restore that car is the original owner if he has been searching for it for the last 20 years or so !  ( or an idiot )  :smilielol:

Let's say that this was my car and I was trying to sell it in this state of condition. I would never own any GM's but let's just say it was mine up for sale. Well..............AT LEAST I WOULD BLOW THEM LEAVES OFF THE CAR!!!!!!!!!! Also take all the parts out that are crammed into the interior and trunk, spread them out and then take photos. Clean up any trash that doesn't belong to the car. Presentation is everything when it comes to selling a car. Even the crappiest turds of a project car. I search a lot of CL ads under cars/trucks for sale and a very high % of them are poor pics, bad write ups etc. Just the other day I went to go see about a 1983 Dodge Ram D-100. Guy said it ran, get there open the hood and there are leaves everywhere. The truck didn't start. He knew I was coming a day ahead of time yet didn't take the time to make sure it would start. Good luck on selling your truck. Gee I wonder why it's been listed for a month and a half. At least list it as a non running vehicle, as is, needs to be towed instead of wasting my time.  :brickwall:

One man's trash. Obviously, you didn't pay attention to the pics of some of the "Christines" over to the F. look site. These cars are getting up on 50 plus years old. Of course everybody would like to see a car fopr sale that only needs a scuff and shoot, but I'm smart enough to rellize while they are still out there once in a while, most are in this condition for this price. Leaves? As if that will sell it any quicker to a bunch that looks at this at face value. I thought we were the ones that were supposed to see the value ina rusty POS car? I still can....

Unfortunately, that car's gone enough where it wouldn't be worth fixing.

Fortunately, for about 4 grand you can still get a running and driving one that's worth keeping.

2nd gens are really starting to get hot, and there are a TON of aftermarket pieces to turn one into an amazing performer.

I could fix the hell outta that car.. $700.. shit. If the frame was solid you're done.. I bet you get that car complete and running for $1500. Paint and interior for another $3K. Boom: $5K n done. Sell that ALL day fer twice that..  :Twocents:

I guess I see your point Cooter. If I were to see a '68 R/T buried in branches and leaves I'd look right through that and see what the car is really about. But it's just me. if I'm selling I'm going to try my best to present the car.  :2thumbs:

Exactly. Not all of 'em can be "Survivors" with original paint, bought back when they were nothing but used cars on a lot, etc. For some of us, this is all we are able to afford to build. To these, I tip my hat.
