I would really like to say I'd love to have it, but I wouldn't want it.  It'll go for record money and stuck in the corner of a museum or someone's private collection and forgotten about until the owner sells it.  In a way, I say it needs to be preserved and left alone, but in another way, I say freshen it up and enjoy it.  Either way, the buyer would be ridiculed for whatever they did to it.  All I can say is Poor Cuda.

 It's certainly not worth more than $35K..I mean, WTF are these auction companies thinking? Haven't they heard there's a recession on and folks need to give away their cars. I don't see this thing selling very high.  Looks like a Bondo buggy from 20 ft.

While there is a crappy economy,and we know the musclecar market is not what is was from the years 2004 ish to 2008 when it exploded ,this car should bring good coin.But,Mopars are down across the board,in those years $250-300k for a Hemi cuda was the norm.Not anymore,seems like they are all the way down to $100-150k.Which,IMO is still ridiculous for a car(toy for the collection).The whole Hemi thing got way out of control,and even a comment by Peter Klutt,Legendary Musclecar,"Mopars went way up way to fast".He couldn't be more correct.
Not that using the auction houses as market values is a good guide,but there have been numerous Hemi cars thru BJ,Mecum,etc that have ben considered good values,$62k for a Hemi RR ,and that 71 GTX Hemi pilot,and Vert with it for $100k,wow,the guy who bought those scored.
So,if having a Hemi under your hood is what you want,and have the finances,attend these auctions as you might come out luckier than you think.Sellers of Hemi project cars are asking steep premiums,restoring the paint/body/interior/gauges,etc are the same,but all the Hemi specific stuff involved will break the bank.
These days,it seems you are better off laying down the cash and buying a restored car,as restoring usually will be in the negative.Unless you do all the resto yourself,and even at that is not cheap,alot of the small resto parts will nickel and dime right up there.

 A 71 4 speed 'Cuda is probably more desireable, but that low mileage '70 will fetch some serious coin because of its originality. Below is a few results from Mecum auctions from the past couple of years; sales & no sales.  As you can see, the pricing is all over the map for 70-71 Cudas and only a true moron would think that the car is only worth in the 30's.

wonder what ever happened to that 70 or 71  black hemi cuda that was , involved in house / garage or car port thingy fire  , was re -boddied &  think the story went from memory  , it was professionally inspected  , before an auction  & either it was not picked up on or no mention was made it was a re-body during the sale

From what I saw this was the second biggest price of the day. A '69 Boss 429 went for $417,000
