Our laundry room was a friggin' mess when we moved in. Cabinets falling apart, rusted sink, just gross.
Gutted the room, installed new ceramic tile. Some nice floor to ceiling storage cabinets from Lowe's, nothing expensive. New slop sink, faucet, a small vanity. Also another wall cabinet for storage. The room is kinda tight so I also installed a recessed ironing board into the wall. Closes into a nice cabinet.
I'll try to get some pics up soon. It's no paradise, but MUCH better than it was before.

No laundry room for me, just an area in one corner of the basement for the washer & dryer. We did put a chest style freezer in between the two, it gives us a 3 or 4 foot wide area to put the clothing on top of. I did build a cabinet & put up a couple of shelves over everything for soap, dryer sheets, etc. If I hit the lottery big we'll find a house with a nice laundry room that isn't in the basement. If I hit the lottery small, we'll just be set on laundry soap for years.
