Newly posted Superbird listing, nice car, starting bid $150,000, has had some alterations from stock,   but when I read this section, it made me laugh ...

"I have the original 4 barrel intake complete, avaliable for a extra charge, also have the correct tires, Goodyear polyglass mounted on correct rally rims, also avaiable for extra, they only have about 500 miles on them...also have special made car cover, that's extra also...."

Though I am sure he forgot to mention it, I am sure keys to start it,  is also extra :yesnod:

too many to list!

Dino

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Odd that he wouldn't throw in the intake/carb...heck, I'd keep the 6 pack setup.  I wonder if he's fishing?

That's a very pretty car that is only about 20 minutes from me.  I like it a lot, and the owner is a good guy.  I've seen the car dozens of times.

I wonder if he has another wing car to use this stuff on?  Because that car cover isn't much use otherwise.
Yes, i know he can list it separately and get money for the stuff but it seems like a lot of work for not a lot of money.  I think I'd rather include all that stuff with the car and make a big deal out of it in an effort to raise interest in the car. :Twocents:

WINGIN IT

Nice lookin' car.
A lot of money for a 4bbl automatic.
Probably trying to recoup some of the money he has into it...  :Twocents:

Nope, a '64 Galaxie conv and a 70 Charger R/T.  Don't know what he'd use it for, either.

So what rating system did he use to determine this car as being the #3 car in the country?
I'm also doubting the "every nut and bolt" resto judging from overspray on some areas.
Beautiful car and it loks like a decent driver quality resto, but definately NOT OE quality....or the #3 car in the country
and as mentioned before, asking additional money for the original intake and carb???? :image_294343:

Says there are only 12,200 miles on the car and needed an egine rebuild.

I think he did the Chrysler Classic circuit with it.  It's not a foolproof way to judge a car, but it's nicer than 90% of the cars out there.

Again, no dog in the fight, but I know the car and it's nice.

Doug,
I wasnt so much knocking the car, it looks like a good solid car and I'd be proud to drive it! The description and wording of the ad just could have been much better, and asking for additional money for a 4bbl carb, intake and cover is just sillyness when you are asking $150K for a car!
Maybe you should offer to help him out with a better AD!

I know you weren't being mean--that's my job  ;)

I didn't know he was even trying to sell it.  Kind of a shame since he was one of the more active wingers in the area.  We have lots of cars here that don't get out often enough.
