I know we've discussed a bunch what kind of music we like when we drive and I know there are some who always repspond to those threads that they don't need tunes when they drive, I just wondered what the unscientific breakdown was.

TruckDriver

I don't need music. At work in the dump truck, I rather listen to the diesel engine. If the car has a nice growl to it, I am the same way. Only when I drive something that is super quiet, I listen to the radio.

I had to disqualify myself from voting since neither of my classics have working radios. I have no choice but to listen to the pipes. ;)

No sweeter sound than a 440 @7000 RPM.

I do like music in my car most of the time, but have days when I want to listen to that sweet music coming out the tail pipes.  I do enjoy having an aftermarket stereo and speakers to play music and the original am radio hooked to the dash speaker for nostalgic am band ball games.   :yesnod:

I generally have to have music when driving any vehicle. I think I have ADD or something  :nana:

In the Dart if I'm cruising back to my home town or on any road trip, it's usually old rock like the Dazed and Confused soundtrack. If I'm around town or revving my car a lot it's engine noise  :2thumbs:

If I'm just out cruising, no music ever. If I'm on a solo road trip or going more than about 45 minutes on the highway I'll generally have some sort of music on (assuming the car has a radio!).

I'm pretty much a "sound of exhaust" guy, unless I'm in my soft-top 440/4spd Ramcharger. It has been proven repeatably, that it does everything better, with "Shoot To Thrill" melting the amps (and ammeter). :METAL:

Either way, but pointless.  It started with Radio delete and then I installed a radio in the mid 1980's  which was stolen after only a few months.   :P Then I swapped in an old AM radio that didn't work.  Now back to a radio delete plate.

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I usually like to have music going but the radio is broken in the charger and it's way down on the fixit list so for now its the exhaust note.

pretty much have a restored AM radio with an added MP3 port to hook up my MP3 player with FM receiver.  I have some early Aerosmith, classic oldies, rock, etc and some of the music I listened to when I was in high school playing when Im out and about with the charger.  There are also times where I just leave it off to listen to the sound of the exhaust note!

Yeah, and I don't want to cut the dash either.   So I could mount my old Pioneer KP500 under dash with an EQ amp.   I'm in!
