Just wondering what some of your favorite scary/thriller  movies might be? They can be old ones or new releases. I have seen the previews for a new one called, "Momma". Looks creepy!!!! Anybody seen that one yet?  :shruggy:

I like the ones in black and white made in the 30's.  You just can't beat the classics. Hitchcock done some good ones as well.  When they went to all the gore, they lost my interest.  Exceptions would be some of the vampire movies they make now adays.  They pick some lovely ladies for those :drool5:

Yeah, Hitchcock made great thrillers.

The Monkey Troops in Wizard of Oz still make me cry.

But the number one insane movie, which I am still in awe of, as the scariest real life movie ever - "Midnight Express" from 1978. Real story about doing time in a Turkish prison for smuggling drugs. Very well made, six Oscar nominations and two Oscars won. Someone here will confirm - it is intense and you pee your pants.

The Billy Hayes story, yeah, quite a good book too. How about ''Altered States'' with William Hurt from the early 80's, that one always struck a chord with me.                                              Look up the synopsis on wiki Mrs Skip

Wrong Turn?  What can possibly be so wrong with a guy that he would chop off Emmanuelle Chriqui's head rather than carry her back to the house for a long weekend? That doesn't make any sense?

As for a scary movie, how about Arlington Road?
Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not;  a sense of humor to console him for what he is.      Francis Bacon

WANT TO BUY:
Looking for a CD by  'The Sub-Mersians'  entitled "Raw Love Songs From My Garage To Your Bedroom"

Also, any of the various surf-revival compilation albums this band has contributed to.
Thank you,    Kenny

The first time I saw The Sixth Sence, I thought it was great! I love movies with a twist that you dont expect! Still a good movie, just dont get that "jump outta my skin" feeling since ive seen it so many times!

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

BIGBLCK11

The Descent is pretty creepy.  I also like Darkness Falls.

Dino

Off the top of my head:

The Exorcist
The Shining
The Thing (80's remake)
Midnight Express (so true 68X426  :yesnod:)
Dog Soldiers
Cube
Evil Dead trilogy
Jacob's Ladder
Tremors
The Fly (80's remake)
Alien
An American Werewolf in London
Wolfman (recent uncut version)
Dawn of the Dead (1978 version)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978 version)
The Omen
Jaws
Rosemary's Baby

I enjoy the classics just as well but there's just too many to list.  Anything with Vincent Price get's my vote!  Can't go wrong with Hitchcock either but I think the Birds is seriously overrated.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Any movie with Julia Roberts in it must be scary because she automatically makes me close my eyes and put my hands over my ears.

A couple that come to mind are the Final Destination series (4 of them) & What Lies Beneath, with Harrison Ford & Michelle Pfeiffer.
I think it's hilarious how many different ways they thought up for people to die in the Final Destination flicks.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I think the original Alien is still one of the scariest movies ever.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
