Two wealthy guys who both wanted it badly bid it up well beyond sanity for that car. Happy seller.

You guys need to check my Barret Jackson thread. Lot of cars are selling for over $200,000+ this year. I can hardly keep up with them.

Yeah - We have a 1971 Olds 442 Vert in our showroom right now....     W-30 with  W-27 -----  455, auto, PDB, PS, A/C....      Silver with an Ivory gut...     People look at me weird when I say we are asking $175,000

350K worth of the fugliest dash in the world...

Yep!  that dash fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.   :Twocents:

I would rather have it instead of one those Porsche's or over priced t-turds. I would just rather pick up a half a dozen 50K cars instead anyway. I don't think the dashes are that fugly....if it is it's about the only ugly thing on them. Certainty looks better than the the square dash panels on lots of mopars  :Twocents:

That family does a lot of 442s.  Looks like there will be another 70 convertible (don't know more) for Palm Beach.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Oh yeah and I'm not arguing that there aren't many that are much worse, I'm just saying that for 600K I don't want to feel like I'm driving around in a 73 Silverado Custom Deluxe Camper Special...

They handle like a Chevelle, GTO or any other Fbody, 600K?

I like the 68-69 dashes a little better
