WHO has the highest mileage Charger on THIS forum? My speedo/dash/harness was replaced (By me.) 18 years ago so I always wonder. (Steve, the seller said the dash replacement that came with the car was "very close".)
I'm showing 77064.6 and as the car was drag race only for 8 years and stored for up to 7-8 years while I played single dad raising my 3 kids I think it's close to correct. Steve was the 3rd owner and had the car 16 years, it was his first car. So between us I can account for 35 years and 3 owners (including myself.) as when buying parts for it Scott at "Teds Auto Parts" mentioned he had owned an all blue 70 Charger and sold it to Steve! (My car!)

I bought my Charger from a friend of my brother's in 1976. He was the second owner and had been using it as a daily driver since 1971. I drove the Charger only a thousand or so mile each year until I put it away in 1981. Amazing that most of the original parts were still on the car. I started the restoration about 3 years ago and it sould be back on the road again very soon. Hopefully, in just a couple of months!

I did not reset the odometer and here is where it sets today. This pic is before the restoration.

I know Todd Wilson's 69 charger Frankie had well over 200k on its original 318. Still got decent fuel economy a few years back too.

I'm at about 460,000 miles or so.About 250,000 on the rebuild. Bought the car in 1978 with 89,000 miles on it. It has an 8 1/4 rea with 2:76 gears that has never been opened.
If your wheels ain't spinn'n you ain't got no traction.

Dino

About 3000 miles since spring, before that who knows how many times it went around.  The cluster wasn't original either unless they always wrote $50 on the back of it.

I got 17.1 MPG and a low of 15.2 going to Talladega in 09.   And I ran 87 and 85 when I could get it.   The car is still worth more than all the fuel ever ran through it.  By a long shot.   Quick math.  If the car only got 10mpg and it doesn't get that bad even in town and if every gallon of gas was $3 per gallon.  Well that is $75k.  50k at 15mpg.    It's a numbers Daytona with all it's paperwork.  Never been restored.   Never wrecked and no rust ever either.
