Just got a PS box from Steer and Gear. New pitman arm and added gussets to the k frame while the box was out. On a '73 PS box If I eliminate the rag joint and slip joint will this cause problems with the power steering box? Does the input shaft have to be able to move in and out some to have the power  work?

dangina

no -the in/out movement is to accomodate the flex in the chassis

Without the pot coupler, chassis flex will eventually muck up the steering column bearings,  turn signal switch, etc.

Noise, Vibration, Harshness. The trifecta of wimpy drivers complaints that lead to the iso bushing suspension of the mid 70s.

Oh.

I took out the leaf spring isolators years ago. The K frame has poly isolators only because I was not aware of the aluminum ones.

If it is too harsh for my old bones I will get some of those cool  padded driving gloves that Peter Fonda wore in Dirty Mary,Crazy Larry.  :D
