68 Charger stock car

What would you do with this thing? It's pretty beat up and missing lots of parts but it might be one of the rare 383/4 speed cars. Would you restore it? Zero seller feedback is not real comforting either.

Im pretty sure its not an original 4 speed car, I think I'd pull the engine and trans, toss the rest. Pretty beat up, doesnt seem like worth saving. Maybe donate body to some cascar or racing museum?

I agree. It looks like too much is missing and modified to restore it. Just make it loud, fast, safe, and drive the hell out of it.

no offense, but you fellas are negative!!!  Own a piece of history the 'charger' that made you KING of the road back in the day and still can be King of the road with its awesome power!!!  These things go up in value daily and will not come down one bit due to the popularity of the charger.

Unlike all of the fake Duke boyz clonemobiles out there, this car would be a much better candidate for a Dukes clone,  mainly because you really do have to jump through the window to get in and out odf it.

You're buying the engine, trans with pistol grip and and 8 3/4 rear end.  The rest of the car is free.  Not bad.

How many 68 Chargers have a race history? Even if at a local level it means more than just another restored Charger. Sorry Bull but a 383 2bbl 4 speed may be rare but not the hotest setup back in the day, which is why it is so rare.

To far gone to restore and I agree with some of the others, make it street legal and drive it AS IS!

I think if I got it (and could afford it), I'd just do a "daily driver" restoration on it.  That is, clean it up and make it mechanically sound and safe to drive on the road.  Then I'd go for a low budget body work job and have the racing paint job redone all new and shiny.

I mean, hay, to me, it'a always cool to drive around in a race car, and what better one than an old charger?  (and that way I could have the nice one for shows and such and the old race car one for cruising to 7/11!)

I'd go through it and keep it a race car. I'd build it up for SCCA or NASA and go have some fun on the weekends. Because, racecar...

  Better to start off with one clean fender and build an entire car around it than restore this one.

I would clean it up, make it drive, block off all the holes between the engine compartment and interior leave it as is. If wasnt at the complete opposite end of the country I'd be bidding on it.

I agree with Rallymike if close i would jump on it.but the buy and ship too west coast wood add up fast as get in price.. Then i wood do barely legal street  ,, DAYTONA,,NASCAR toy .

wood just shorten fenders an hood,hang a tona nose and wing and make up a pin on vega rear window.add windshield and drag car pop in side windows. plug firewall and bed liner floor.open passenger door ,add pass bucket or bench for pass and slide in.then just have fun and over the years maybe replace some bent panels .hey the roof looks gooode and a 4 speed,,AWESUM. HOPE SOME ONE GETTS IT AND KEEPS IT AS RACE TOY.

I agree, a person is gonna have a lot more fun with that car if they don't try to restore it back to stock.  4spds are cool but it's not a Hemi/Dana RT car.  

That thing is missing 80% of the parts you need to make it stock again.  It has rollcage tubing passing through the A/C hole in the firewall.  It's got wheelwells cut in different shapes.  It's obviously rough as hell and it's probably not gonna get any better the closer you look.  But it would be fun to play with.

If I was a millionaire I'd just strip it down and "restore" it back into a NASCAR clone or something like that.

My dad's 1970 Charger R/T, 440 4spd ended up like that car....

Keep it, make it street legal, wouldn't have to worry about road rage a**holes. Then find some a**hole that Parks in two spots,(nice fancy car) where he can't get out & park real tight beside him. Then climb out the window. .
