I am looking for a shop that will restore the metal components of the center console.  I got a 69 with the auto console with wood grain looking top plates.  I want it done right, so rather than do it my self and waste a ton of time, I'd rather send it out and stroke a check.  It would probably look better anyway.  I already have a replacement console shell ( finerglass, not the cheap injection mold type). If anyone has done their console with a vendor and has good results, please respond.  Thanks!!

No shops that I know of but you really aren't saving any time if you found one; send parts away to shop for 3 weeks or order parts in mail, and do it on a Sunday afternoon.

If you are dead set on spending $$$ having someone do it, I'll be happy to, I've done a few, but I got to tell ya' it's the easiest "restoration project" for your car.  :buff:

Good Luck

Basically depends if the chrome is pitted, if not, then a few hours and done, remove the woodgrain, paint the sides black, put the woodgrain decals back on, done.  Like AK said, easiest resto you can do.
too many to list!

Hmmmmm,.... generally the "fiberglass" consoles have plenty of fitment problems with top plates, and lack of mounting bosses, just for starters, the new Injection molded consoles are just as nice as the originals, IMHO to do up a nice console, buy one of the new injection molded ABS plastic consoles, and purchase the assorted top plates, end plates, etc from www.BEAparts.com it should run you close to a grand,....thats what you'll pay a chrome shop just to redo your 3 existing top plate pieces...

:iagree: well worth it, call Mike at BE&A and Tony at Tony's.
