There is a lot of these on ebay a lot cheaper with free shipping.  Here is 1 example.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-1157-RED-42-SMD-TAIL-BRAKE-SGNAL-LED-CAR-LIGHT-BULB-/170508599034?hash=item27b31abefa&item=170508599034&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr

i don't wanna say too much, but you might be getting what you paid for with those cheaper ones.

You are probably right.  I have never purchased any from anywhere.  I was very interested in this post and these bulbs, but I am just a cheap skate and for half the price with free shipping it might be worth a try.   There is also always the chance that all these LED bulbs are made in the same factory in China. :shruggy:

I've tried Hong Kong SMD LED's, and you almost cannot tell the difference between braking and regular tail lights.... I switched back to regular bulbs.

Interesting, never would have considered that issue.  :scratchchin:

I ordered the LEDs (from Superbright LEDs) for the rear brake/ turn signals and front turn signals for my '69. I am planning to take a few photos comparing the LEDs to the incandesent bulbs.
I didn't buy the electronic flashers and am hoping that the original flashers work with the LEDs. If the original flashers don't work, can I get the electronic flashers somewhere local (like NAPA or Autozone)?

I'd like to see this. Please post pics when you get them installed!  :yesnod:

Anyone know what bulbs would be compatible with the dome, map, and console lights? They were sizes 1004 & 90.  :shruggy:

Go to the Superbright site and type in your car.  It will tell you all the bulbs you need.

I saw those too, Brian!    That would work for the 1004.
The hard one to get is the size 90. It appears there is no cross reference number for that bulb. It's a fairly small bulb as well. Maybe a short 1142 cross referenced LED bulb would work?  :shruggy:

You are correct Bill, 1142 crosses. Pricey buggers though.
