70/I6 charger

I just made a deal with my father in law for his charger.

Its an all original 1970 charger with the 225 I/6 and factory air. I don't know the ins and outs as I have only seen it out from under cover once just this last year. It has been sitting under a tarp for the last 10 years. It's white with a black vinyl roof. It is missing the front seats. He pulled them out to get them redone and they were left at the upholstery shop many moons. I will follow with pics when I get to go pick it up.

THE 6 WILL STAY!

I have been told, and I just confirmed on another site. That the 6cyl with air is more rare than the HEMI. The 6 cyl will stay! I know it has surface rust, but the body is straight. It was a daily driver until it was parked& tarped. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get up to it to get all the info you guys crave!

The six even without the air is rarer than the Hemi.  Welcome and looking forward to the pics.

I didn't even know they put them in a 70.  :scratchchin:

I am glad your keeping this one stock. Keeping the current motor will save a fair amount on your resto as many swap out for a 440.

If you feel the need for speed I would look for a Dart or something to hack up.

Thank you for the warm welcome, I will be registering it @ http://1970chargerregistry.com when I get all the info, and am prof positive that it is a for real 6cyl a/c car. I guess I jumped the gun on posting so soon. But I did see a 6cyl and a/c pump when he popped the hood for me, the one time we went out and looked at it. I have been trying to get it off his hands for the last 8 years. I have always been a Dukes of Hazard fan, and getting a charger has always been a dream.`(no I wont butcher mine)I'm one for keeping things stock.

When I was a teenager I found a 68 mustang fastback. It had a 200ci I6 mated with a 4 spd MT, factory air and pony bench seat. I got it sitting in the weeds for $600 and built it with my Dad. It was 1 of 1 from the factory.I was paid a considerable stupid (even today's standard) lump sum for it when Gone in sixty seconds came out. It was sold  with the condition it will remain as is.  The guy knew what he was buying.
