I am thinking about swapping my 2 speed wiper motor for a 3 speed in my 69. What parts are needed besides the new 3 speed motor?   :shruggy:
1969 Dodge Charger R/T
2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee 75th edition
1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
1972 Plymouth Duster

The bell crank is different (the part that attaches the motor to the actual linkage).
Also the wiring is different as well as the switch. The 68-69 charger  3 speed switches are becoming very pricey.
The first pic is the 3 speed switch, you can see the resistor attached on the 3 speed.
The second pic is the bell crank you need for 3 speed.

wiring is diff JUST the engine bay section... but you don't care, different from 2 speeds where the wiper harness unplugs, on 3 speeds motors got the wiring attached with plug to firewall. There is no way to remove this harnesss from motor without cut it.

so getting the motor, you'll get the harness
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

Thanks guys!  :2thumbs:  I didn't know the switch was different? But I see them on ebay so that won't be too bad other than the cost. Any idea where to get the bell crank?

Don't get why it's $60 more to restore your orig ????

When I restore someone's original wiper motor I keep all their original parts together, binned together, waiting for the plated items to come back from the plater.  The bin is labeled with the owners' name, etc.   I'm not pulling components at random from my core part bins that are ready to build with, ALL the original components from the original motor are reconditioned/restored and put back with the original motor.  I usually have 50+ cylinders plated and on the shelf for build, along with components to pull for a wiper motor build if the person wants me to build off the shelf, so to speak.  That takes 7-10 days to turnaround.  On restoration of your original motor I try to wait until I'm running plating so that the original restoration doesn't have to pick up a $75 rack fee with my plater for me to run 1 or 2 cylinders, has a longer lead time and like I said, I use the original components from your wiper on an original restoration.  If a gear is broken, brushes are worn, etc. then I pull from my inventory, otherwise all of your original components remain your original components.  Alot of babysitting, keeping track of, etc. thus the price difference.  Sometimes I can head a date code dead on with a cylinder already plated and waiting for pull to build, in which case it's up to the owner as to whether or not they want their original restored, or one that only me and he/she knows was not their original equipment.

Hope that helps explain the price difference, the lead time difference, etc.

On the two to 3 speed conversion questions, hopefully this info helps
