I wouldn't jump to conclusions on the Sandy part.  I would definitely get the history report though.  It could of just been rearended or some other accident and then repaired.  It depends on how the state laws are in NY for a damaged vehicle.

FOR THOSE INTERESTED... is a VERY rare model.. not too many of those. I think this is the 6th or 7th I have seen on the web allong 10 years... SE with roll down quarter glass option ( non opera louvered quarter treatment ).

From the ebay photos the car looks very nice, too nice to have a salvage title, unless it has been working on it's open water certification.

I got at the end the smaller one, because my tranny doesn't have the provission for the 3rd attachment point anyway

I just messaged the seller about the title.  Daytona's only a little over an hour from me so I might ride down in the Jeep tomorrow just out of curiosity and at least look at it.   Is there a way to get a salvage title reissued with inspection or is it always a salvage car?

I doubt it, but it does depend on the laws of the state.  I think if you can get a state trooper inspection done, they might be able to overturn it.
