Cheap boulevard cruiser.  Anybody's lady wanting a car?  This would be the one to get.

Indygenerallee

I bet if you went with $7,000 cash in hand you could get the wheels re-installed!!  But in all if I had the extra cash it would already be in my garage!! Very nice looking Coronet 500 convertable!!

You're probably right, but I have an extra set of Magnum 500 wheels & tires so I'd just bring them along.

I'd love to have that car.   :2thumbs:

Indygenerallee, the Coronet isn't yours.  You're merely posting a great deal so this shouldn't be bad form on my part by just piggy backing another great deal in your thread.  Just showing that there's still deals out there, not a for sale ad.  It's a buyer's market still.  BTW, if you don't like me posting this, I'll delete it with an apology, no biggie.
Anxious to see which way BJ goes next week.  If it stays like this for a couple more years it'll sure help me.

So...

Here's another one for you Bob.  Don't buy a plane ticket though,  ;).

He asked me to list it for him but the jealous side of me doesn't want someone else to get it cause I'm trying to figure out a way to purchase it.  He's taking 5 cars to BJ so now's a good time to get in his wallet.

"Just purchased out of storage of 6-7 years.
Amatuer restoration that needs cosmetics to complete.
Driver quality paint that could be touched up to be nice.
Some interior pieces need redyed.
Motor sounds good, and is numbers matching.
Has a/c ps pws light package etc.
Needs brake work.
Has had quarters and trunk floor.
Just bought car and have not been all over it yet.
Have not driven it yet.
Would take offers in the upper 20s or possible trade for a 70 RR or GTX"

The owner states it needs a full restore.  But, which ever way you look at it, it's complete, and a hell of a good project for $7k.   It made my eyebrow go up when I saw it a few weeks back.  Momma will cut my sack off if I even thought about it....... Someone needs to grab this NOW.

And to be fair to my little bride, she isn`t completely about maintenance.  If I bought her a convertible she would be happy and drive it occasionally but the bottom line would be that I was buying myself a convertible in her name.  Hey, wait a minute... :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

Same with me!  As much as I try to get rid of my Coronet, the wife won't let me.  After owning it for 8 years, it's starting to grow on me.  I tell her at least 15 times a year, "time to sell the Coronet" and she get's pissed off at me.

I showed it to my wife and told her if I sold her 70 Cutlass we could get this and have money left over. She didn't look thrilled and said I got a convertible remember? (68 Cutlass) I am suppose to restore that next. Her 70 is done so I doubt if I would be up to restoring two convertibles when I still got to get the Charger done. It must need all what Brian said or it would be sold by now.

Make a nice start for a Daytona convert.

Daytona Convertible = :eek2:  I hope this car finds its way to someone that will take care of it, its a cool car, you don't see too many 500s already, and that Cyclops tail light is SICK!   As far as the wheels go, I'm not a fan of them anyway, let the owner keep them, put some Mag. 500s on that baby and take the family out cruising!  :yesnod:

My girl owns two convertibles and I own two convertibles..... All the tops go down at the end of Feburary and stay down till mid November. Three of them do have A/C though.

That Coronet is a steal at $7K, wheels or not. I sold a totally trashed 69 coronet 500 convertible with NNM engine and lots of rust a year ago for $3700. It's a pretty rare car.

This car needs a restotation. Since it has beem on the market for at least 6 months it must need floors and frame work or it would be sold. A bunch of people saying it is worth it but the car remains for sale. It has been on other sites for sale as well.

The black paint below the molding was standard on the 500.

Well, I spoke with the owner today, seemed like a real nice guy.  It does need interior, full quarters, trunk floor, possible floor pans and front and rear frame rails.  He said someone fiber glassed the rear rails, they are bad from the bumper to up over the rear end. The entire front rails are soft as well. I am passing on the car.

Did that done that with my 68 Charger. :eek2:  Years ago a lot of cars went to the junk yard due to frame rails being bad.  My opinion, if you have someone that can do it, or can do it yourself, it could be just another factor of a restoration.

Based on what the owner said, I would guess that if you bring over anything over $5k cash, he would bite.   AMD frame rails are spot on BTW!  Granted you have about $3k in metal alone, but it's still a low priced rag top.   :2thumbs:

If you have to add all the frame rails, rear quarters, floors and interior, tires and wheels paint etc, you would be way ahead finding something better. Nothing low cost about that, your buying a 318 drive train, front clip and some glass for 7K  :Twocents:

If it does need all that, it definitely isn't worth anywhere near the asking price.  ::)

When I had my '68 Coronet 500 convertible for sale I was asking less than a third of that car & it included all the replacement parts. Mine is in better shape structurally since the rear frame rails are solid, it has a good trunk floor & there is ZERO bondo anywhere on it.

Guess there weren't any offers because it didn't look all shiny.
