I just read them at the grocery store.  It beats having them sit around at home in the way and I can buy the issues that I really want to have.  I don't subscribe to anything, they come with too much junkmail asking you to renew even after you just renewed you subscription.

Indygenerallee

I don't subscribe/buy any magazines anymore, I find out more just on the different forums and find out faster.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

PA Dodger

Yeah, but if they tell you $45 now, think how great you'll feel when they tell you they'll give it to you for $29.99. Wow they'll be saving you tons of money! My favorite trick of theirs is sending me a renewal notice after right I renew it. I better hurry and renew because my it could be my last issue. When I call to confirm my renewal they say" Oh yeah, I see that right here."  :rotz: ::)

I saw a sale recently for like $15 a year.  Hot Rod was $8

Yeah... That's great...but after 20 years or so subscribing to this rag I shouldn't have to shop around for the best price.

don't foget to double that price for us poor slobs onthe other side of the pond! :brickwall:

Yep every time I get a renewal in the mail I say "no F'n way" and throw it in the garbage.  Then a few weeks later I get an email offer of $15 and renew.  Really not impressed with the mag anymore.  Should get Muscle Car Review instead.
Wife got a NookHD for Christmas, thought about subscribing digitally, that way wont have a shit ton of magazines laying around.

RECHRGD

I dropped them several years ago because of that crap.  I would only renew when my subscription was just about up.  By that time, the price was about a third of what they were trying to get me to pay earlier.  They get desperate for more subscriptions, as the prices they can charge for advertisements goes up or down depending on their readership numbers......

Mopar Muscle is the worst....and right behind MCG which is slowly dying. That's really unfortunate because MCG was the best for a long time. It's a shame when a magazine loses touch with its home base. You just can't be everything to everyone.

any of you guys seen the Aussie version "chrysler action"? not quite  up to us mag standard but close phil

Oh it's coming..Right now it's still on a "Volunatary" basis, but a few of the other boards I'm on are already doing this. Tis true, it's "only" around $20-$25.00/year, but still. Nothing's free, and if it IS free, it ain't for long.

:iagree:

Got my renewal in the mail last week. Strange, I paid for a 2-year subscription renewal not even a year ago.  :scratchchin: :brickwall:

I dunno if MCG is "dying", but I wholeheartedly agree they lost touch with their home base. If I wanted to read the Enquirer, I would.

:2thumbs: for MA this month.  Great layout on the feature cars.  No more flipping front to back to read one feature article :woohoo:  Great coverage on the Daytona, Hemi Challenger and SRT RR :drool5:

F8-4life

Sounds like you guys missed the boat... I got  1yr of hotrod, car craft, and mopar muscle for around $30 total when they were running the $8 holidy deal.

Aero426

Even my local newspaper, I have to let it expire and wait for a "come on back" offer to get the best deal.

I just extended my Hot Rod subscription for THREE years at $25.   I like some of the stuff they have regardless of make.

Moparparts

Dropped my subscription quite a few years ago. Was asked to have my car photographed for the magazine and had to take it down town to the old barn. It was a rotisserie restored car and it had rained so i did have to do a lot of cleaning to it afterward which was no big deal. I had vendor spots at the time i had to leave for almost 2 hours and then spent a lot of time writing up the history about the car and submitting all the info as requested. I did receive some neg slides in the mail and was told it would be in the magazine which to this day never happened. The part that really sucked was the friends i told and even a previous owner who renewed his subscription just to see it never happen. I still hear about it from them! I kept getting the magazine for a while after it first happened and was consistently seeing cars in the mag that where not even close to the quality or rarity of mine (not saying that mine is perfect either or the rarest) Never again i lost a lot of sales from my vendor spot and wasted a lot of time, lesson learned!

I just have MCG in subscription

I dont see the problem.

I pay more than that per month just to have internet.

What the hell is 44 dollars for 12 monhs?

Less than 4 dollars per copy... thats cheaper than magazines here that cost near 10 dollars for 1. Times that by 12 and ur at 120 dollars.

Yeah, but this magazine has rendered itself useless to me.

How many engine dyno runs do we need to see each month?

My latest issue, I flipped through in 7 minutes and in the trash it went.

I don't mind spending a little extra, if it's something I'm

interested in,but I wouldn't doubt that pretty soon they're

going to do a feature on that Randy guy's latest bowel

movement.

Can't wait to see the dyno numbers on that. ::)

After 20+ years...

I'm done.

I got tired of all the Jesus stuff.

No thanks.

i always waited till the show to get it at 20-25 bucks and a free t-shirt, last year i didn't even bother, looking at the mags and going to shows just makes me depressed about mine so why bother reading or going to the shows anymore?
besides you folks got better  cars and ideas than any mag i've read, i just wish you were better looking your selves....................

That's exactly why I subscribed to them all. But I've stopped. I look at them on line instead.  I used to save them all and had mountains of them taking up way to much shelf space. With the exception of one or two, I finally tossed them all.

Had my Cuda featured in one of them a few years back.

Totally agree.

I used to get 'em all, save 'em all.  The first to go was MCG.  Now the MM will stop after the current sub is up, and it goes straight into the trash after I glance through it.

MA was great this month....lots of variety, good tech......I read it just about cover to cover.

Has anybody gotten the tech articles from MA on CD?  It can be purchased from them, and I wonder if it's any good.

TUFCAT

Richard Ehrenberg is a smart cookie!  :yesnod:

MA's tech articles explain things for the average hobbiest (like me) to understand.

I'm a far cry from a certified mechanic.... but I have E-booger on my side. :ricky:

I did get the latest issue of Mopar Action because of the drum brake upgrade/ rebuild. The info might be on line but I like the pictures & trust E booger to not print tech that is crap.

I agree totally with you guys.  I have issues back to 1994 and occasionally go back and look at them.  I use them for the great DIY articles.  I also look at the owners' cars to check out engine bay details and such.  But now the whole issue is about another freakin Amsoil dyno or rebuild by people who do this as a business so how can I identify with that?  I'm sick of it.  I quit a couple years ago.  MCR is a good mag and gives fair coverage of MOPARS.  Too bad, ever since they changed the format and cover of MM, it went in the crapper.  That's why I keep a couple issues near the toilet in case I run out of sh#* tickets.

Gave up on Mopar Muscle a long time ago. Still get MCG mostly for the ads. I've been getting Mopar Action since the first issue ( still have it) and I always will , the best tech in print. I've seen some of the cars and the Dakota they have built, racing at Lebanon Valley Dragway. They are the real deal !!     :2thumbs:

Sublime/Sixpack

I've been a long time subscriber of Mopar Muscle but recently let my subscription lapse for a couple reasons. First, the magazine no longer appeals to me, THEN, they wanted more money to extend my subscription than ANY other magazine I currently take.  That just rubbed me wrong!
I figure their prices should be in line with other Car magazines.
Maybe they'll get the message when they realize long time subscribers can live without what they're trying to peddle.

The only reason I still subscribe to Mopar Action is for the TECH info. They're a strange bunch over there but the Tech is good!
