Read with interest about how many cars might have been involved, one in particular, the funky 69 tail lights shown on one car....now, I noticed something, have no way of taking a pic, but when they hit the pickup truck on the highway, and drive away...check out the ass end of that car...looks like the funky one....just sayin!

Maybe just the movie I have...but after the hit there ws a little chit chat going on, and showed them driving away on the road before they parked and fixed the ca

Yes, that is the 68.  You can notice it more clearly when they focus on the rear driving into the walnut grove to repair the wheel.

Perhaps not like that but until the advent of freeze frame ananlysis of these old movies no one caught it.
Like many Hollywood cars, it was good enough for the split second you got to see it on screen.

Um, it was like 1971...I'm sure the folsk checking this film out were "High" and never picked up on it.
