Hi ya Stroker, hey your avatar is quite cool with the Charger clip, but at 7MB to download on every post you make, it takes quite some time on my connection to load 1 single page and worse if I'm on my cell and more so if you make multiple posts on one page. And when you multiply that out by more than 4500 posts on a lot of pages then its a lot of needless server space of Troy's thats being chewed up by running it endlessly. If you could change it for something smaller or even static that would be great, just asking thats all. Thanks,  Cheers Bob

Happy to oblige, I'll see what I can do

I deleted for now, I'll try and find one that works a little bit better :2thumbs:

On a side note,  I've tried loading this site up on dial up, not fun.  Gif sig or not, it takes forever to load up.  I feel sorry for those that are on it.

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

stroker, Jessica Barton.... thank you.   :drool5:

I'm on dialup at home as well so I disable the signatures in my profile.  Besides, I really hate seeing a half naked chick on the screen when I'm AT WORK!

For the record, I've already been scolded on about that.   Mods and I are on top of things.  As far as making things easier for loading up,  I'm all for it.  But, I'm all for a little eye candy as well :drool5:  Nothing wrong with an appropriate hood ornament

stroker, proper forum etiquette, no need to post messages from Moderators about getting your hand slapped for something.   :Twocents:

For the record, those aren't stored on my server so they have zero effect on my bandwidth or storage space. Not so for anyone who views any pages that contain them (especially if they are on a phone with a limited data plan). In theory, the browser should cache it after the first time and not download a new copy but that's not always the case.

There's a reason the site has limits on the size of attachments. Even the current sig pic is nearly 900 KB - or 4.5 times larger than the biggest picture you can upload here. Again though, even if it shows up 15 times on the same page the browser should only load it once and display it 15 times (unlike 15 individual pictures which would all have to be downloaded). For anyone whose browser get a fresh copy on every page load they'll have to download it every time they open a page containing it (which is a LOT based on post count).

Another problem is that animated stuff (and sometimes Flash) wreaks havoc on some browsers and causes "stuttering". I haven't personally noticed this in years but it is a known issue.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Don't forget you can turn them off in your profile settings & not have to see any of them.   :Twocents:

Ok, Thanks for changing it Stroker, bit easier to manage now. Just thought maybe others were having a similar problem and not logging on as a result, it had just about got to that stage for me.

Troy, Thanks for the clarification and Good Job as always, great site with lots of information and a few laughs  :2thumbs:

I didnt realise sigs could be disabled in profile, cheers guys.

There we go, all positive, no hand bag slaps at 50 paces, nice one  :icon_smile_big:
