I don't think its the environmental lobby, or just them.  Farm subsidies have been a part of US politics for a long time and they have made a mess on their own.

Oh yes, I realize that.  I meant more that in this instance with this stuff serving a geater purpose as a public relations bit for politicians than an actual environmental aid that I wonder how the public would feel if the next time their favorite political party (and they're all guilty) started telling them about the great things they were doing to stop climate change by forcing ethanol on them added in how much money it cost them.
