Daytona length

What is the total length of a Daytona?  Will it fit in a 20x20 garage?

Yeah  Husk  It will fit  very carefully,,,,,put a concrete block in front of wheel, SO you will stop just before you put nose in wall.
I allways called them 18 ft,.

A conventionally framed garage that is 20'x20' (outside to outside, which is a normal way of calling this out) with 2x4 studs, no sheetrock, and a garage door will be about 231" inside.  With 2x6 and sheetrock it'll be around 226".  Measure before you buy.

I measured from back wall to where the Garage door meets is 20' 11"  The property is right across the street from my Mopad and has 6 lots with it all fenced in so eventually I will build a nice shop.  If I get this I will have enough room to have a car show across the street from the Mopad.

Yes should, but as noted carefully. Put up padding as well in case that concrete block creeps ( I've always used old tires) ...

I always back my car in because a rear bumper is way cheaper then a nose cone . once its in and against the wall i have about 4 inches space  .

I used to do that for my ex-wife since her method was bumping my tool box to determine she was in the garage all the way. But I hated it hanging in the way when the car wasn't there and I was working on something in the garage.

I ended up buying one of these laser pointers for cheap.

I put a outlet adapter in the garage door light socket so the laser light would only go on when the garage door opener light was on. That way it was only on when needed during pulling her car in.

btw, you don't have a laser light beam but more of just a dot that shows up on the car as you pull in. The illustration I attached in the picture looks like you are beaming the car up to the USS Enterprise!

Come to think of it, I always have backed mine in too, but that's because I like easy access to under hood to disconnect battery, and if she doesn't start. But am thinking  I won't have a choice with the Daytona and it will have to go in nose first, we'll see.

Good thing is it works even if you back in. You just point the laser to a spot you can see on the hood when your backing in. You don't even have to turn your head to look out the back window.

I rented a garage for the bird years ago that had a concrete back wall.I put a piece of cardboard against the wall and just touched it with the back bumper,then i had one inch that the garage door handle cleared the nose cone.It was close ,but it fit.  Rick.

A 20'  X 20' garage is measured from the outside. Don't forget to take the wall thickness into consideration.

My version is more low-tech , I agree about the tennis ball being in the way so I siliconed a small thin strip of ply onto the floor in front of the wheel, just creep up to it, easy as

This is just thoughts on parking a daytona in a 20' deep garage. Depending on stud size, 2x4 or 2x6 I found my car would not fit. You would have to put a lean to or cut a slot in the back wall to allow it to fit. Also remenber to watch overhead door as it  is generally inside the wall perrimeter and you could put the door down on your nose cone or wing and trunklid.  Also do not forget if your car has a four speed there is no neutal start switch, you are not leaving much space if you forget to put clutch in or someone other than you tries to move it.

Also in regards to backing in, watch the wing. i can remember backing a wingcar into a garage and it seemed to me that the wing was canted back enough to touch the wall before the rear bumper. Could of been a case of sunken floor in garage or garage itself had shited under its own weight.

I have another caution.I am looking at building a garage  tall enough to put one car on a hoist and drive another one in underneath. it is a wonderful idea, but unless you put a vaulted ceiling in, a sliding overhead door just might take the top of the wing off when you open it.I  am thinking of a left or right sliding door instead.

All my ideas hing on a city approval and they are not very helpful, put in restrictions and of course raise taxes since there is more building to tax.

If I buy this building I hope to build a shop in the near future, so this would be a short term parking problem, but I have 21 ' in one garage so I think I am fine.  Just need to negotiate a price.

Just remember that 20' is outside measurement of garage. Do not forget to reduce this by 2"x4" construction or 2"x6" studs for framing.  This can reduce the 20' down 1/2 '.. Also garage doors are set in so you might lose even more.  I found trying to put my Daytona in a 20' deep garage appeared to need a lean to or slot in door to allow nose to poke out. Also it may be an optical illusion but it seemed to me the wing was canted toward the back and might be first piece to hit the wall.
Lastly you can not walk around the car and if you have a garage door opener you do not want to test the reversing method by having it try to come down on the nose.
