How do you verify  a Hemi is original in a 1966 if the Block has no VIN?  Date code seems OK. Seems they did not put a VIN on this year.
too many to list!

No, the Vin was not stamped on 66 engines. Date code is all you can go by. It should be something like this

BH426 WT
10 20 14

B=1966
H=Hemi
WT= Water Tested Block
10 20 14 (random numbers I chose) is the assembly date and sequence number= Oct 20th, 14th engine

All you can do is check the vin to make sure it is an original Hemi car, and the the build date on the block should be I believe plus or minus about a month from the cars build date.  "matching numbers" wasn't until 68.
