Why you need to be careful playing with Tannerite

just make it yourself. youve got all the goodies near by. get some instant cold packs and some powdered aluminum. cant remember the ratios but its on the web.

Why would I need cold packs. We have a ton of Ammonium Nitrate in the barn. It's the fertilizer for our hay fields.

I'm not saying I have made some and I'm not saying I haven't.

But the video I posted shows how careful you need to be with this stuff.

That really shows how close he came with that slowed down... I'd say he used plenty.

Because the stuff in the barn is likely coated with another substance to make it non-reactive. Ever since the OKC bombing almost all fertilizer (at least in the US) is treated so that it won't explode...

The company I worked for developed that coating. I built a small tumbler and application rig to test it out. I also then tested the finished product for ummmm, "non-reactivity". Ayup, it worked.  How the heck are you, 6?  Been a while!

Our Fertilizer here isn't coated with anything although you can get a fertilizer that has a non-explosive compound instead of the Ammonium Nitrate (name escapes me at the moment). That stuff doesn't work with tannerite. But even then, the stuff we have in the barn is 100-0-0 fertilizer. Technically it's the same stuff a person would use in a mix to make blasting explosives. We used it on our fields.

I think he missed it.  His eye was still pretty close to the scope when the debis went by.
