Ive been trying for the longest to log on to 66-67Charger.com,I think they would suit my interests a lot more although this sites great and been very helpful but I've tried everything its said to do and nothings working.A friend of mine that's a member of Dallas Mopar Club managed to get in but said hes only successful half the time-what gives? Ive tried to contact them twice but never got a responce, can anyone give me DETAILED (like I'm 5 years old),instructions on how to log on or who to speak with that can walk me thru it? THANKS
This is gonna be cheap and easy......

RCKSTR

It let me create an account and log on, the verification image is caps sensitive, but the rest was straight forward. Where are you having problems?

Dodgerdallas

It mentions something about cookies and what to do and sorta states that a lot of people have problems getting on and what to do about it and you may have to try several times-I've went back and followed the instructions a number of times and no luck
This is gonna be cheap and easy......

Dodgerdallas

I've tried new password also no luck

I am a very active member over there, and every once in awhile I get logged out. Don't know how but it just happens.  When I go to log back in for some reason it can take up to 4 or 5 times trying to log in to actually do it.  Might be something with my computer, might be the site... I'm not sure.

What browser are you using?  If you have a later version of IE, Chrome, or Firefox you can launch what's called 'Incognito Mode' or 'InPrivate Browsing' or something similar (they all have it).   It basically doesn't load or store cookies (or browsing history, or anything else) and lets you operate in a sandbox temporarily, as if you were using a brand new untouched browser every time.

I've had cookie/login issues before on some sites, and opened them in 'Private Mode' so that no old cookies can interfere, and it works fine.  Then after I'm done I can go back in using the normal browser and it clears it up.   May work for you.

Good luck.

It's not you - most definately the site and he doesn't want to address the issue.
That is why I gave up.
No problems here ... welcome.  Kick up your feet and stay a while!
Always love to see another first gen!

The Yahoo group is still around too.  I was never crazy about that forum format though.
I don't get there too often but a bunch of good guys there too.

I'm in there nearly every day and have no problems with the site itself.
I am experiencing Google browser issues with screens locking up though and am now opening the forums in Firefox/Mozilla.

No help I know, just my 2 cents worth.

:iagree: I was on there for a couple of years, then all of a sudden it wouldn't let me in. I did everything that
it told me to do, and still nothing. So, i just don't go on the site. Its too bad to, i really liked the site.

I'm on there every day with no issues as are a bunch of other guys. I'm using Google Chrome.

It's too bad that you can't log on. There's a lot of great guys on there currently... :shruggy: Makes no sense. I wish it would get fixed...

Dodgerdallas

It's just odd that somebody takes the time and money to start a site and then allow a problem this large to last so long.
This is gonna be cheap and easy......

bobs66440

It used to be a great site with a lot of members. It used a different server with the same simple machines format that you see here. Then they changed servers and there were a lot of problems with the change over. Many guys were locked out and, as you know still cant get back on two years later. Most of the photographs that were posted in the threads were lost and never recovered. It's a shame.  :rotz:

I don't know what the problem could be. I can get on the site on any computer at home or work and even on my iphone...

This site is ok, but there aren't too many first gen fans here and they're not afraid to remind you...over and over... :shruggy:

gibber

I can get on the site with no problems using IE or Chrome or Safari even. But the site is a shell of its former self and with most of the people I became friends with over the years gone, not much fun anymore. I will try to get on here more often. If you need any help with your 66, feel free to ask those of us who own them. ODZKing forgot more about part numbers for these cars than most people remember! I have a small business repairing the EL gauge clusters and have several other parts and services suppliers on my website, www.thegaugedoc.com.

Good luck with your car,

I used to have problems logging on too.  Was using Internet Explorer, for hell of it I switched to Google Chrome and never had a problem again.  I log on the site daily.
I like this site because there are a few more performance orientated posts but lately its gotten a little high schoolish with some these crazy posts.

I did.  IE 6 and 8 and Firefox.  It didn't matter.
Besides, it shouldn't make any difference.  It should work with all of them.

Even though I have been registered here for a few years, my post count is only in the 20's.... so maybe I don't have the right to suggest this yet but I will anyways.  there is a seperate area for aero cars, how about a seperate one for 1st generation cars?   Just throwing that out there....

I'm going to be the bad guy here what with owning a 1st gen and all but I feel about that the same way as I do about a separate GL board, too much diversity.  I can see a need for the aero one only because those cars are so highly specialized and a niche core of fans who trade in the Ford products with as uch excitement as the Mopar stuff.  There seems to be a focused interest there on a specific era of stock car racing as much as anything so they do kind of exist in a different world.  If there is a 1st gen board then there may as well be a 3rd gen one and a 4th, 5th and 6th.  In spite of the reputation I have as a "hater" with a few members of the GL community (which is hugely wrong btw) I think there is more to be gained with a common Charger board than setting up a bunch of separate areas where no one is going to learn about the other groups.  There is for sure a huge worship here for 2nd gens and some of those guys will throw out the brain dead Marlin comments or the misinformed one about how its just a Coronet with a fastback but I think there is a silent majority that even though they might not own one, don't mind learning about them.  I think if there were a separate area that that same crowd wouldn't bother much to go check it out.
Thats just my opinion though.

I guess more than anything, it would be nice to at least have a separate tech section. As you know, these cars are really animals unto themselves and sometimes specialized advice is required. For the most part, the GL and aero cars are basically the same as the typical 2nd gen and much of the parts, tech advice, etc. crosses over. Maybe even to the 3rd gen cars too, but I'm not sure about that. Probably 90% of the tech posts on this site pertain to the 2nd gen, so a 1st gen guy looking for some info (or a 1st gen guy looking to help someone) has to wade through hundreds of posts to find anything useful. The 1st gen guys, the way I see it, tend to be more interested in the technical aspect of the cars as opposed to the social side of a forum in general. At least that's how it is on the 66-67charger site.  :shruggy:

For the record, Troy isn't interested in adding another board, not even a tech board. I asked when the topic for the general lee tech board was brought up.  Only reason the Aero guys get their own board is because it generates enough visitors on a regular basis.  I think if we each had our own section, we'd end up more like moparts. Moparts is more divided up by vehicle than just grouped together like we are here.  I like things the way they are.

Ghoste

There are quite a few of the other car forums split up like that.  Mopar Style is almost to the point of dividing models by year and color.  I may well be in the minority but I realy like the generic approach of this one.  It's just Chargers.  To be sure we've segregated ourselves and we pick on late model LX Chargers or 5th gens or whatever, hey we even argue among the vaunted 2nd gen as to which year is best and why green is a terrible shade (I like green btw and offically for the record before I start to get pm hate mail from someone who only reads the handful of words they need to from an incorrect opinion of me).  But in the end its really about the model name and what it has come to represent over the decades.  (the marketing people were successful for once) :Twocents:

JB400

Now, when have you ever gotten hate mail over a color ofa 2nd gen charger?

Ghoste

I haven't yet but I've sure gotten it for other things that weren't true.   (and some that are but those crosses I will carry  ;) )

I had to log back into the site again very recently... I attempted to log on 6 or 7 times, but each attempt lead me back to the beginning (portal page) which showed me as not being logged in. I finally said screw it, I give up... but since I'm here, I might as well check out the Active Topics page just to see what was new, even if I can't participate. Low and behold, when I clicked on the Active Topics tab and the page opened... I was Logged On!!!
Bottom line... I was logged back on at my first attempt, but the front page (Portal Page) never registered it. It showed me as not being logged on when I actually was. I never would have known if I hadn't gone any further. When I returned to the portal page, it now showed me as being logged in.
