Mr2's are neat little cars on their own. Ferrari actually helped Toyota design that car. It's RWD, mid engined car so it's not too far from being a mini Ferrari.

The problem I've always seen with these types of conversions is that 90% of the time the car ends up being a sloppy rattle trap. Inevitably things don't fit right and the redneck engineering takes over. In a nutshell, I'm betting the aforementioned broomstick prop is just the tip of the iceburg.

Very true.  Kit car conversions usually make better TV props than real world cars.

It's not hard to understand why.  Any kit that was thoroughly engineered & quality-controlled well enough not to be a rattletrap would likely cost too much.  And the kits are usually based on older cars, which means it's probably not possible to create a perfect fitting body part if they tried.  (Look at our hobby - N.O.S. panels don't even fit the cars right half the time.)

The MR2 under that Ferarri clone is basically a Toyota Fiero.  Not a bad item on its own.  I would rather have a stock one than this kit.

Just found out a true conversion from head to toe, back to front, will run you 40k plus!!!!!   :brickwall:  They even have FAKE rotors on the car to make it look like ferraris (WTF) those costs 1k alone for all 4s.  Among other crazy things....I would rather spend 40k on something else than a kit conversion.

Looks like kitcars are about the same price as a kitplane.

Silver R/T

With this car you have to use KISS method. Keep it simple stupid...ie. do engine swap/turbo upgrade and add a nice wide body kit/nice wheels and you have a nice clean driver. No need for crazy Ferrari conversions

How much for a used Ferrari? $35k?   I'd just buy an old 308 for half that if I wanted a moody Italian diva car. Better to get expensive parts than no parts at all.

And only $1200.00 For a brake job. Used Ferarri's are NOT for the faint of heart.
