What are the biggest tires to put on a 68 Charger R/T?

I would like to replace the 25 year old tires, on the Hemi.  What are the biggest meats you can put on the back?  Dad used to have soem 10" slicks, but they were about 1/2" too wide and cut the outer  edges off.  I am thinking about soem 9" wide tires, on the back and some 7" or 8" on the fronts....ya they aren't going to last very long and I wonder if I can return them if they don't last the 30,000 miles!
