Really nice.

Where did you buy you scissor lift? It's awesome!

Speaking of which, when the car is completely stripped it'll become very tail heavy. Beware of the center of gravity while it's on the lift.

PtitRaisin

Yeah I was thinking the same.
It not dangerous when you begin to dismantle lot of things?

Is it a mean to bolt it on the floor?

Knowing that it would be tail heavy,I have it set up on there more forward than usual.I wasn't going to take out the rear and gas tank as of just yet,but figured it would help lightening the back end would be a good thing. This lift still grabs the car with adjustable swing arms and pads just like it was on a 2 post.
Believe me,I am a paranoid one when it comes to cars up on lifts, your life is under that thing. When I built the garage where the 2 post is,the entire slab is 6'' thick, and under the 2 post I went deeper,8-9'' thick. And when researching for a 2 post,I liked the Bendpak as its columns have a large footprint and 6 bolts in the baseplate rather than most have 5.

Again, did a lot of research on these scissor lifts, actually drove to Greg Smith Equipment up in NH to physically see their brands(Atlas). Then went to a place a town away from me here in Bristol,Ct,Ray Jurgen, they sell/install/maintain lifts.Once I saw this one,Rotary Revolution,it was hands down way more beefy in the steel, reinforcements, the lock mechanism, and especially the 2 cylinders are massive compared to the Atlas. Was $600 more, but worth it to me.It can go to a height of 54'' .
Not saying the Atlas is bad, probably works fine, just decided the couple bucks more was worth it.

Oh yeah, know very well, actually, look close in the eng bay pic,you will see 2 straps in the tranny crossmember holes as a just in case to help aid holding down the front. When the rear and gas tank were still in it (13 gal gas),I was able to pick the car up off the front pads. After rear, etc was out, seemed real stable, put straps on anyway.

Damn Paul, those floorpans are pristine!!  :drool5: :drool5:
Perfect foundation to weld the rollbar to!  :nana:

Yes Bill, when I went to see the car,the carpet wasn't in it,so I got to see the floors, and was very happy when I saw the orig red oxcide primer in that nice of shape. The car had weird crap done to it,you do remember the AMC door handles, right !!! :brickwall:There is also a little square hole in the bottom of each rocker panel that was cut out for whatever reason, that I have to weld in a patch. And on the Dutchman panel, there are 2 drilled holes, about 1/2'' round just behind the lower corners, now have bondo covering them.At sometime there must have been something bolted there ?????

I remember those door handles!   How did you fix it again?
Chris' '69 Charger R/T

First fix was a quick one just to get those hidious things out of my doors, the final repair was this...

2 other orig charger doors supplied the donor door handle area, carefully located the new section, going around the door edge and incorporating the orig hem(to take away another vertical weld),installed the door handle that will be being used on that door(orig gonna get rechromed)plus a backing plate to add strength.A use of spacers is a must when doing a butt weld so the panels don't pull toward eachother when the heat/weld hits it.Put as many spacers as you can poss fit, tack between them,IMMEDIATELY cooling each tack(I had my blow gun next to me).Jump around the panel ,keep doing this process, very time consuming, keeping the door handle bolted in also ensuring strength.Key for a butt weld not to come back and haunt you with the "ghost line"thru the finished bodywork/paint is to GRIND both sides and keep your weld the thickness of the sheetmetal with all hopes that the area that is filled in with weld expands and contract at the rate the sheetmetal does.
I did the poss best I could to repair and save my orig doors to the car as they fit perfect, gaps, power window doors, and rustfree is an understatement.
At worst, they do something funny ,I will get diff doors, and paint those.I am at an advantage as the car will be PPG Concept 9300,so matching won't be a problem.

Here are some scary pics for you......

and more....

The pass door wasn't that bad, only needed, the lock area to be fixed, did it the same way, piece from another orig charger door, secured it in,hoked up all the lock pieces to make sure it worked, welded, grinded on both sides.

Got the rest of it gutted out today, windshield, backglass, headliner, dash frame, wiper arms, all wiring harnesses, vinyl top, trim.Took some pics before I rip off the glued on under dash insulation. Was thrilled when I pulled the windshield, clean as the day was built. The back window  was also never out of the car, very clean as well all the way around ,but did discover a samll hole bottom left corner, easy fix, couple tacks with the welder.Really nice under the vinyl top to,I'm thrilled considering it is a vinyl top car, also found those two other positioning clips on the bottom  still there.
Now to put all these freakin parts somewhere !!!!!! So much stuff to store away.

Alot of weird things were done to this car,one of them being someone covered the orig door handle holes and cut in AMC door handles.
The car is very clean as far as rust, but had some weird crap done to it,obviously the door handles,a Ford antenna drilled in a diff spot on the fender, there was one small square hole cut on the bottom of each rocker panel with a plate screwed over them? There are 2 holes about 1/2'' drilled on the deck panel that are bodyfilled over right now that I'll have to fix,the tail panel was a heavy metallic purple at one point, then painted black again, they added the luggage rack, which is not on the fender tag,so off it went. When I stripped the front fenders,I found one one there were 3 small holes drilled on top right above the wheel, that I thought probably was a dent that someone drilled for the old school dent pullers, but after stripping the other fender, there were the same 3 holes in the same location, looks like there was fender mounted mirrors???

Today, after going back to the original post I made to get the link so you can see how it was when I got it,kinda funny, today makes 5 years to the day that I got it !!!
