Do some cars seem to get damaged more than others no matter how careful you are?

My blue Fairlane always seems to get damaged compared to every other car I own. It has been backed into twice in parking lots by other drivers. A pot head slammed into the front causing $3500 damage (minus parts). A storm ripped a lock off a door and banged against the front fender all night at a temporary location, oddly enough I've clipped the side door with the same fender a few days later. Just today I found a deep scratch on the trunk lid from someone in my household   :icon_smile_angry:  I left the car cover off for a few weeks till I could wash it, the car was too dusty to put the cover on. Someone put something on the trunk lid that scratched the paint pretty bad, it was only painted last year and it's too deep to buff out. I can't seem to win with this car.

On the other hand my POS Fairlane that I don't worry about, park wherever and am far less careful with has never had any damage, not even a door ding. Same with my other cars.

The more we worry about something the more the little things happen we notice.

Christine?

Yup.  Don't smoke in it, keep you hands out from under the hood, etc.. And be afraid!

My truck is more like Christine, it tried to kill my wife one day while out four wheeling.

The Fairlane on the other hand is different, it's a magnet. No matter how careful I am it's bound to get damaged in some way.

Are some colors more likely to be missed by other road users,  light blue or grey vs. red or yellow and so forth? Has there been an insurance study on this?

I'd thought it was green cars that were over represented in the insurance/prang mishap statistics on account of them being less visible on overcast days.My wife's green Mitsubishi legnum has been at the panel shop 3 or maybe 4 times in the years we've owned it, people driving into it twice and other carpark hits. Its a 97 though so I'm not caring on it anymore
