69 DAYTONA

Superbird...pix taken by previous owner 25-30 years ago, the car was for sale
...............pix taken when I purchased the car 5-6 years ago, it looks exactly the same today, still non restored

...I tracked this car for decades...

...then

now...the day I purchased the Superbird

69 DAYTONA

the ride home...

69 DAYTONA

it's new home...

69 DAYTONA

...I used to have a sales route and sometimes drove my 69 Daytona as my sales car...I also serviced fountain equipment for Coca Cola USA and my Daytona was my service truck...I heard of this Bird and tried to purchase it several times during a period of about 30 years, and it finally fell into my lap so to speak...matching numbers, 6-BBL, AT/column shift, bench

...80 some thousand miles if I remember correctly

she's a beauty, larry, and lives alongside several other beauties that i have got to stop by and drool over.

what i'd really like to know is how the dodge dealer's son ended up with a plymouth? charlie surely disowned him for that "transgression".

...Charlie had the car first (for many many years), then his son

charlie and his crew were definitely muscle car fans, and dad has often said the dealership was a happening place for muscle cars. it is where dad's 1967 and 1968 coronet r/t's came from, as well as the daytona. dad recalls they even had a quarter mile marked off on indiana 44 for "road tests". the mechanics there tweaked on dad's 68 r/t every chance they had, and he has always said it would run circles around the daytona. both cars had the same engine, transmission, and gears, but the 68 was much quicker, according to dad's recollection. i wonder if the superbird you have received the same fine tuning, way back then. they could have had lots of fun with the multiple carbs.

Beautiful car !! I see in the older pics the heater is not connected and it looks like it is not an AC car but the carb base plate  is cut  for an AC compressor .
You must be a very proud owner to have a beauty like that .
