Silver R/T

Why go through all that work and convert a new one into classic Camaro. Would've been cheaper to buy unrestored Camaro and fix it up.

I'm sorry, buut that one just looks a little off to me.  Maybe if it was painted in the z11 paint scheme. :scratchchin:

Mytur Binsdirti

Oh gawd, that thing is hideous! That's even worse that the guys who throw a 1962 body kit on a new Vette.

TheGhost

Obviously alot of effort went into it, and it certainly looks better than a stock 96 Camaro, but... :-\
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Indygenerallee

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Ghoste

I appreciate what they tried to do but there is something really awkward looking about it.  I agree it would have been easier to just buy the classic version if that was what they wanted.

1970Moparmann

Maybe if the windshield had the right angle it wouldn't look to out of whack to me. :shruggy: :scared:

If I bought a Camaro, it would be a 69 RS/SS.
My name is Mike and I'm a Moparholic!

chargerman69

same 69 rs/ss but has to have hide away headlights

Kern Dog

The only 96 camaro you "wood" buy?
I expected this to be a car carved out of W O O D like the title stated.

JB400

Name changed :scratchchin:   Doesn't matter how the title of the thread is stated, I still won't buy it.

I think that the car looks interesting, but the proportions are noticeably different. The car looks sorta stubby. The fender ridge fades strangely.
By the way, while often being a grammar-police type guy, I really did think that you were referring to a wooden car!

djcarguy

I like it with top up except big hurkey mirrors and wheels.  But with top down and side view the winshield and frame lay back way to far for me.lots of work and effort and money for new parts went into it.

My guess is it was a 100k mile car that was sun cooked and likely hit front or rear,or both. the LS1 and 6 speed with modern suspension ,i bet it is a blast to drive and looks cooler than a stock 96. dont think its worth what he wants unless it had a super nice paint job ,an body line on doors fine tuned.
I sure wood bee out running the wheels off of it,anyday, love ragtops.. :Twocents: :scratchchin: :2thumbs:   :D

Sublime/Sixpack

Personally I think it's funny. I'd like to own that car for one reason, to drive it to the local cruise nights, park it next to the "real" First Generation Z28's and watch the owners cringe.  :yesnod:

same idea as sixpack just to own it to take it to local cruise nights

I'm on the fence... between 'hate it' and 'really hate it'

It makes the black and gold Salvaggio Charger look good.

I was hoping at least one other person would've posted that they liked it so I wasn't in the minority.   :smilielol:

I wouldn't do that to the car, but I think it looks "okay" & appreciate the work. I will agree that it's odd, especially the windshield, but I think it looks better than a new Challenger with a Superbird nose cone & wing.   :Twocents:

It's not bad, but not my cup of tea.  Does that make you feel better? :pity:

hatersaurusrex

Honestly though it still looks way better than a regular 1996 Camaro.    The styling on those things was 1 part Lumina and 2 parts Geo Storm:

[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68
