emailed seller he said its a specail gas/brake pedal.  To get teh brakes to work you double pump and its in 'brake mode' and to get gas pedal mode you 'single pump'.  Said it was easy to work and has great power  :2thumbs:

Add to that a clock knob, black paint on the bottom of the doors, a clean odometer, better fitting rugs, a decent dash paint job, console carpet, better fitting decklid, and the list goes on & on

I still wouldn't pay over $25k for it. To me NO car ever made unless it is less then 5 ever made is worth more the $30k. But that's just me. But it is a very beautiful Charger :drool5:

Obviously it is rare and valuable being the only one built at the Hamatrack Missouri plant.  I Googled it and that town isn't even on the MAP anymore!

It seems like there is a rash of this lately even though there have always been misinformed and/or outlight purposely misleading car ads.  There may be more as the internet both breeds misinformation as easily as facts.

I 'would' send the seller a kind message explaining why he's running for douche of the year, but I just don't have the stamina anymore.  If he wants to sell it for triple what it's worth, fine.  And if someone comes along and drops his savings on this overpriced tomato, fine.

I'll still be a little nice though.  If someone comes to the board looking to buy this car, I will do my best to educate said person as best as possible so the prospective buyer can make an informed decision.  There.

If I was the owner I'd love to get 3x what the car is worth too.  Why blame him for trying?  There doesn't seem to be anything really fraudulent here.

Plenty of rich guys have more money than brains.  Plenty of other rich guys can fall for a certain car and knowingly overpay for it.

Personally, I'd say that there are more rich guys with brains than without. I'd also venture to say that many rich guys set their sights higher than a run of the mill 68 Charger R/T. To me, it's the seller who's lacking a certain amount of gray matter since he's advertising a car that's lacking the details that could really spruce it up. Not to mention who in their right mind advertises a high dollar car with unvacuumed floors. Sheesh!

Ghoste

JB400

Pricing it at $85 g's keeps out the riff raff.  Serious people with serious money are going to be serious when it comes to buying a car.  Profit is probably a minor thing with this seller.  Sure he wants to make a profit, but pricing it high keeps out the stupid people unless they have money, then they will be the likely ones to buy it.

Someone who wants to show it's driven instead of trailered. I know a bunch of folks that do that for that very reason. Just cause the floors are clean don't make it worth anymore money. The fact that it is driven, and we know it will run longer than on and off the trailer means the world to some folks.

I'm sorry, but I'm with Cooter on this one. :2thumbs:  Trailer queens are fine in all, and command some respect for someone wanting to protect thier investment, but I think there are more people that respect a classic car more if it's driven more than 50 yards.  Having a/c is nice, and I would be one to want to enjoy it; but if I had to choose between the two, I'd throw in an extra shirt and put on more deodorant and roll the windows down.  Use the extra stops to get a drink as an extra excuse to show it off at the convienience stores.  If the lady of the house wants to ride in a/c, that's fine; let her be the sissy. :2thumbs:

But, it would be more appropriate to at least respect your ride a little bit and clean it up.

I totally respect someone who does drive their car. Back in the day, my first hemi Charger was a daily driver/weekend show car, much like many here. One of the biggest thrills for me was driving to one of the first Mopar Nationals held at the Chrysler Proving Grounds & taking the old hemi for a spin (at speed) on the high banked oval. I probably logged about 30,000 miles on that car, but that was then & this is now. On a long hot July trip to Carlisle these days, I'll now gladly take a comfy vehicle with a/c.

Now, the village idiot here thinks he can rag on my with my "hemi junk" and  trailering it to Carlisle this July, but in his game of half-wits, the more he talks, the dopier he sounds. Let's face it; in the world of light bulbs, a halogen he is not.  :eek2:

Hoo boy...   :popcrn:

I'll have to agree with the Turbanator on this one.  :yesnod:
Whether I were selling a vehicle for $10K or $85K, I would try to make sure it was spotless as possible. I mean, if you were showing your house would you leave dirty dishes in the sink or a deuce in the toilet?  :shruggy:
Presenting a clean car doesn't mean it's a trailer queen. Seeing crap all over the interior could also mean a sign of neglect. The owner doesn't care enough to take 5 minutes out and vacuum it? What else is uncared for?

After spending 4 full days straight in 105-degree heat at the last Carlisle show, I was thankful my car & truck had A/C.

Yes, I would agree.... and far more than many would think ?

December 31 2012 the DOW Index was at 13,104.... and the S & P 500 was at 1,418

Today....  the DOW Index is at 34,000 or a 259% Increase/Gain ... and the S & P 500 is tracking at 4,300 which is a 303% increase/gain

Which depending how anyone looks at it.... either the asset costs 2-1/2 to 3 times more now than back in 2012 ?
or,
your money is buying between  33% and 38% of what it could buy back in 2012 ?    I choose the latter....
