I just got a new ignition switch from Year One for my 68 Charger but it came without the big nut that goes on the front of it. The old switch is not for a 68 so no luck using that nut. Do you know where I can get a correct nut?

Thanks! 68 and 69 is similar I suppose.

69s are a one year only production switch... so nut is the same one year production

Thanks! I will order one soon! Just have to make sure the new switch actually is for the 68.

So I just got the ignition switch bezel for the '68 Charger. To my surprice the bezel slides over the treads on the ignition switch. :brickwall: Unless I am missing something here and the switch is a wrong one this bezel is worthless. The treads inside the bezel is very shallow and does not look right to me. It looks like the bore diameter was made too large before they cut the treads.
The switch was purchased from Year One. Part number NG1009. It is listed as a 64-68 ignition switch. It it the short one and looks correct to me.
I could use some input here. Has anyone purchased this bezel from Vans Auto earlier?
I don't think trying to get a good bezel from them is worth the effort. Any other  suppliers? Trying to fix this bezel with JB Weld or similar stuff and re-cut the treads will not work I guess.

I have a very nice correct factory one PM sent

Sounds like you might have gotten a nut from a 69. The housing is larger.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Thanks for the pic's, Troy. I have the short ignition lock, left in picture, and the bezel also sure looks identical to the one for the 68 lock. They just ran a too big drill bit through it before they cut the treads. China junk I suppose. The bezel looks really nice, but because of this issue it isn't worth the plastic bag it came in.

Geez, that sucks. I haven't had any experience with the repro bezels yet. Most of that stuff I buy in person at a show - but I bet I still wouldn't have noticed the thread problem until I got home (or 3 years later while assembling the car!).
