It was 25 years ago too. It wasn't a "Cream puff" by no means, but it was what I REFER TO as "Fairly solid". It needed more than most here would put into it 25 years ago, but it was what it was...I almost kept it, but alas, a buddy seemed to REALLY want the car and he offered more than I paid, AND I got a '69 Super bee for it..

its the 4.7 and even my wholesale cost on a decent mile junk 4.7 motor is 2 k 
and they are pretty labor intensive so to make a good profit with the miles on it its not a break the bank money maker  .  Plus its the principle that we had it bought and then he jacked up the price after we had a deal .

What I don't like is when you go to buy a parts car, you agree on a price.  I go back the next day to pay for it, and he has done stripped off all the parts off of it after you agree on a price before it was stripped.  He didn't tell me he was going to strip it when we agreed on the price.

That happened to another member on here too recently.  He agreed on a price for a Charger and when he went to pick it up, parts had been stripped.

Didnt one of our own memebers threaten to do this with a general lee? What kind of mopar guy would crush a charger just because they cant get their jacked up asking price?  

I assume your referring to the many times I've referred to these low ball POS people when I was basically trying to GIVE mine away @$15K, I would very much so take a video of it after I stripped it down and made the money I needed from it and crush it, send you the video, then watch as your low ballin' ass saw yet another Charger go to that graveyard in the sky. Is it considered "Right" here? Surely not, but maybe someone will get the message instead of just tippy toeing around it like most do. I have been on the other end of the scale as well. Went to look at a 1970 440 6 Pack Cuda body, car was fairly solid so I made the guy an offer around $200 lower than he was asking (Asking $1000 W/ title)..Dude came back with "You knew that price was a deal, why would you even try to piss me off like that? I mean, that's like an insult man"....

Price went up, so I had to pay $1400 for a body I knew was well worth $1K....Best lesson I ever learned.
Haven't had to do it with a Mopar yet, but I did strip down (and took a video of it being crushed), a NICE 1968 Chevelle SS396 Body I tried like hell to sell for $600.00 one time.

No it wasnt you, there was another thread some guy was raving about crushing his car. You're only asking 15K for your car? I'll give you $14,652.77 but you have to deliver it to the north west. Just kidding  Your  car is definately worth the asking price IMO.

I would rather keep my money in my pocket than deal with such sellers....Ill happily keep 20k plus in my damn pocket (suite case) than give my money to someone who thinks that their stuff is worth more than gold or quotes barret jackson auctions etc.

I agree. You saw my "help me value this car" thread. I kept my cash and Im still walking. Im not overpaying for a car because they think its worth a lot more than it is. I have no problem paying fair market value for what a car is worth, but not someones over inflated vision of a price.

which does not equal a higher value for the charger either  you act like we buyers think our cash is worth its weight in gold is equivalent to the saying the charger is equal to gold itself.

To me 20k in cash is 20k in cash period vs buying a charger from somene who quotes barret jackson auction sites all day or gives the quote of if you put x amount of dollars into this and this will triple in value etc...

Either way its my choice what I want to do with my money and not the owner who owns the charger telling me what to do....

Just cause you guys think your garabge is worth 20 grand doesnt mean the rest of the sane world does. If you've had a car for sale for a long time, and cant sell it, you refuse to believe its overpriced. You sit there and bitch no one has money, when really you arent smart enough to follow the trends of cars to see what they are really worth. Not our problem, you can strip and crush your cars, just dont come whining to us with "everyone is broke" when you got good offers but your head is too far up your ass to realize it.
