How fast do you think they had this Charger going when they "tested" it?

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I don't know but I just saw it on Craigslist last week for 25K and it said 'just needs a few parts from AMD and it'll be like new'

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Ghoste

Yeah, I thought when those pics came up here before someone said 80 so the 70-100 seems likely.

The photo has been up a few times but did one of the times not include a write up from the test?

Cooter

Wonder if it was Orange. I see it had "475" on the door instead of "01"....Damn those TEST GUYS! Tearing up yet another Charger...OH the Horror!!!! :D

Its going to bug me now, need to find out if there was a write up with it for sure or not.  Was it Chrysler that crashed it or an insurance company or who?

Wow, thanks guys! That pic looks just like the one on the pic lol.

kikgas01

This isn`t true lol...... It wasn't until 1955 when lap belts became standard feature on all domestic automobiles. Collapsible steering columns came a couple years later, and padded dashboards soon followed. tan top, any more photos of that car?

F8-4life

Pretty sure belts (anytype) werent standard on any 1950s car. Ford had em as a option because as we all know, ford was never any fun haha. (safety first!)  But yea seatbelts were a product of the 60s, not 1950s. They may have been introduced then but nobody gave a crap untill the late 1960s/

JB400

Tucker was the first one to introduce seatbelts.  But, the other car companies didn't want to have to compete with his ideas of seatbelts, collapsable steering wheels, and safety glass, so they had the Senate shut him down.  It wasn't until cars were built to rigid that his ideals were implemented.

Charges can get pretty mangled up at 70 mph.. but that pic always makes me think the car had to have been going close to 90-100 to cause the car to accordian back THAT far.
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

I dunno, I mean it hit a friggin' wall.  It probably would not have looked like that had it hit a moveable object.

The car is big and heavy but due to no crumple zones will collaps real easily.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
