A 48-million-year-old fossilised leaf has revealed the oldest known evidence of a macabre part of nature - parasites taking control of their hosts to turn them into zombies.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

Wife & her sister were on the phone talking about it, they watched horror movies instead of cartoons growing up.

I watched it last night for the first time & thought it was great. It was kind of surprising to see how graphic it was for something on TV, like the scene when they had to cover themselves in zombie guts & parts to cover up the live human smell. I'll probably watch it again if I remember it's on.

I just watched episode1 on hulu.com if anyone else needs to catch up on what happened first. :2thumbs: Pretty good production for TV, unfortunately it says "Additional episodes will not be available for streaming on Hulu. :'( I don't understand why they don't just play all TV shows on the internet. Their main concern is that they get the advertising in and they can do that just as easy on my PC as they can on the TV. :shruggy:

I tape everything and watch when I want and fast forward thru the the ads... I hear it's great, though my idea of what's "great" and most folks opinion of what's "great" vary greatly...  :shruggy: The Wire was "Great", Deadwood was "Great", Breaking Bad is "Great". But BSG,.. was just ok,..  :shruggy:

It was a lot better in quality than I had expected & a decent story line. (Well, slow moving zombies looking for the living to feast on.) I was absolutely positive it was going to be another typical "TV Quality" type of show with cheesy effects, & tame as far as being graphic since it was on a channel with sponsors. I was wrong & I'd put it right up there with George Romero's "Dawn of the Dead".   :2thumbs:

Good old fashioned, head smashin' zombie killin', blood & guts, with realism that was wholesome family entertainment.  :D

The 2004 Zack Snyder version is a remake of George Romero's 1978 film.

The last epsiode of The Walking Dead did have a new Challenger scene, did a Rockford slide!  :2thumbs:

Well, the first season wrapped up last night of AMC's Walking Dead.  I thoroughly enjoyed this first season.  Seemed they tried to cram a lot into it, but I thought it was very well done.  Great graphic violence for a TV show.  I did just read that every writer for the first season has been sacked.  I can only hope the director knows what he is doing.

:icon_smile_tongue: Yeah, great series!  It is based on a comic book though, so they do have a basic storyline to go by.  The whole CDC thing was not in the comics, maybe the director didn't care for that direction (no pun intended).  We'll see what they do next season with new writers. Go ZOMBIES!

ac_knight

My guess about the whole CDC thing was to change it up from the comics.  You know to keep things interesting, and everyone guessing just alittle.  Great read and great show to watch!

It was ok,.. looooong dead spots, 'n when ever the music started creeping up.... lol... I couldn't help but fast forward... Not that riveting to me, just too slooooow - but I liked the cast, Mostly, I thought it was pretty one dimensional though. They should have kept the Chally. and done alot more with the cars like mowing down the walkers... maybe like with this thing... maybe if they had a viable force to fight back instead of running scared all the ding damn time...  :shruggy:

It looks like Darabont (the director) is planning to use freelancers to write season 2 - could be a really great decision, and it would allow for individual episodes to have different tones. Might be a great way to keep the show from becoming stale.

Personally I'd love to see and animated episode - especially if it were a little tongue in cheek, dark humor kinda thing.
