Ok, as long as you admit to being on board.

You bring up an interesting point though. You may fall into a category I like to call "zombie purists" who espouse that the term zombie only applies to slow-moving undead cannibals and therefore the creatures in "28 Days Later" would not qualify. They are fast-moving victims of the rage virus and not really zombies although some (but not all IIRC) died and were reanimated. Same with the "Dawn of the Dead" remake because some of them were "runners" too. My theory is that only those recently killed can run because they have not decomposed much and their muscles are still virtually intact. As time passes and the decomposition continues they lose mobility and speed. A zombie purists cannot buy that logic though.

I'm with ya' but I think both shows point out a possibility in the event of a zombie attack that they may be "fast movers."  This made me abandon a pump shot gun in favor of assult weapons with large capacity magazines to spray fire at the menicing undead.
I watched RE-3 and 28 weeks later so I'm now offically up to speed on zombies, both were good...I don't think that helicopter would make it all the way up here to Alaska however

bull

Well, if that scenario is true you're in good shape up there. If I were you my zombie plan would include moving next to a military base were there's an ample supply of ammo for fully automatic weapons. BTW, did you see 30 Days of Night yet? Sounds like if the zombies don't get you Alaskans the vampires will. :o

miller

30 days of night was a great movie.. the ending wasnt as you would expect but it was sweet...

i liked 28 days later, but i didnt think 28 weeks later was that great of a movie... just my opinon though

But it says they turned them into docile zombies. We already have those. :icon_smile_big:

Two important zombie announcements people, so listen up!

First, be sure to further your zombie prevention/survival education by attending a screening of "I Am Legend" starting today: http://imdb.com/title/tt0480249/

Also, there's an informative zombie website I'd like you all to check out where you can learn your survival probablility if/when an infection breaks out: http://www.justsayhi.com/bb/zombie

Good luck! Please report your scores here when your test is complete (I scored 73%).

Friends I went and saw I am *Legend.  last night, Midnight show at the the I MAX theater where i've seen three out of my last four movies.. (signaling a trend i think).. Anyhow it was AWESOME! i didn't know anything other then the trailor i had seen at Beowulf and it exceeded my expectations, that's not to say that upon consultation and further review there were a couple sticky questions and holes in the plot line, mostly having to do with Mr. Smith's character having the luck of being... immune yet... and such a smart guy and all... but so damn forgetfull...
but i don't want to give anything away,...
The way New York City was portrayed, as vacant for five years, was alone worth the price of admission,.. And there were other things i don't want to spill the beans about...
Note: there was a technical glitch that delayed the screening about 50 minutes at the theater... and there were some pretty funny and impassioned shout-outs to the struggling and panicked management flying about,.. but, at about 40 minutes into the delay suddenly and quite spontaneously the crowd of 600 or so went into "Wave", I was floored because i had seen this happen at sporting events like Baseball and football but this was so sudden and so complete i was caught unaware and flat footed..   :smilielol:
If there were any zombies they'd probably get me...   :P

If you've ever been to Manhatten you have got to see this movie!  :popcrn:

*Some folks immediately bitched about not liking W. Smith when i originally commented on seeing this movie's review a couple weeks back,.. O.K?.. so you did that, and i don't care..  :shruggy:

I only scored a 71%!!! Wow I thought I was better than that

I saw "I am Legend" this afternoon and thought it was pretty good. The only complaint I have is that all the zombies are CGI.

I recently purchased my house specially with a zombie attack in mind. My Zombie plan is to board up 3 bottom windows knock down the stairs and "Shazam" Zombie proof house. My house also has the added bonus of a large deck so depending on the season we can sit out on the porch and Barbecue while we and shoot at zombies for fun...kind of like the doomsday version of a hanging out with a 6 pack and bug zapper

One thing I need clarification on: Are zombies eating for nurishment or just because they are driven too? I dont think I have ever seen zombie poop, so I'm thinking the later applies. But then again, if they dont poop wouldnt they get awfully bloated?

depends on the type of zombie:
the more common resident evil type don't have any real need for food and could exist indefinately without any type of nurishment.

in 28 days later they die off rather quickly after their food supply runs out.

Well I was actually thing of the opposite question. If I was stuck in my zombie proof house and ran out of food could I shoot a zombie and eat it...provided I cooked it properly of course. If it's still mobile and the heart is operating the meat should still be good. After all pigs have Tricinosis but cooking kills off that?

I'm currently working on a project that will be introducing several new elements to the horror genre... I don't want to give much away but will give this little hint... Werewolves + Zombies + Vampires = http://www.lycansmovies.com

That second link brings up some questions I have about zombies. How do they distinguish between the living and the dead? When they see another human in the distance how can they tell if it's a source of food or just another zombie because they seem to be able to tell right away?

And why don't zombies carry guns? If they are capable of doing all the same things they could do when they were alive why don't they just shoot and disable their victims rather than rely on their numbers to overwhelm them?

And do the victims have to be eaten alive or are they edible if only recently dead?

Ya, how come the zombies don't eat each other.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

1BAD68

because their vision is similar to a mosquito in that they only see in infrared. So they pick up on the heat signal generated by the blood flowing through the body and they also sense carbon dioxide from breathing. The zombies neither breathe or have an operating circulatory system so they wont attack each other.
But dont quote me on that.

hey, did you just make that up?   that's pretty good                          didn't know that about mosquitos, thought they heard heart beat or sensed blood pressure, something like that
