Just to touch on ACUDANUT's post. VINs can tell you if a car was a Rallye or not. Any 72-74 440 non SE car (WL21U or WH23U) would be a Rallye. Any 72-73 H code (340) and 74 L code 360 would also be Rallyes by VIN. Any other engine code and you'd either need to have an A57 Rallye code or a V21 performance hood treatment code on the tag or build sheet to know it's a true Rallye.

That's good info there. I have a 72 EV2 U code (WH23U) Rallye. No build sheet, so I was bummed about that. The interior has been practically gutted so... Glad to hear this though. :2thumbs:

Right on.
WANTED: NOS or excellent condition 72-74 4 speed shifter boot for bench or centre armrest car, part number 3467755. It's a rubber boot that looks like it's sewn up leather.

WANTED: My original 440 blocks. Serial # 2A188182 and 3A100002

ACUDANUT

This true, my 72 Rallye had a 318 in it.  I am glad I have the broadcast sheet that says A57.  Because, like you said...Not all VIN's tell you if it was a real Rallye.
