tan top

 would of said no
,  till  the last cam swap i done on the charger couple of months ago ,
was going to post the same question here  , but seeing as the car was all back together  , & never seen or heard anything about one before , did not think anymore about it .
read the compcams instructions for some reason this time   , no idea why   after the cam was in & all broken it etc ,
((( had run two different  compcams previously  over the years never botherd looking at instructions before  :P, just the  cam card , only swapped them ,like this time ,   experimenting  with lift & duration , with different heads & intakes i was playing around with ,  they both came out as good as ,   with no abnormal wear patterns & the lifters faces were perfect ))),
now i'm thinking   :slap: has this wear plate been in all the compcam instructions on the previous two i've put in , !!
should i have checked  the number one cam journal side to see if its wearing a groove in the cam gear ,  we know a roller cam wants  move forward , hence a thrust button  needed ,  , maybe the taper on the compcams  non roller lobes are aggressive ,  driving the cam rearward more  &  causing premature wear on the distributor / oil pump drive gear , ( just guessing on this i'm prolly talking crap :slap:

heres the wear plate , like i said only looked into this after the cam was in & running   :yesnod:
i'm debating now weather  to take it appart again just to have a look , see if anything is happening ,  :icon_smile_blackeye:

also if its a nessary item , why is it not included in their cam kits :shruggy:
