Ignition wire brackets

Need to sort out the ignition wires on my 68 R/T... A lot of the brackets are long gone, so I am thinking about ordering a complete new kit.

Questions: Were these parts rubber dipped from factory back in the days? Were there any stampings on the brackets? Steel gauge? Any preferences for suppliers?

There is probably only one person making the ones everyone is selling. The steel brackets were never stamped with anything on them. Not sure on the 68's but the 69 up had the clip on nylon inserts on some of the steel brackets....these did have numbers on them. I think some of the 68 440 brackets may have been dipped in rubber.

Hard Charger

My 68 were coated on the wire ends and painted engine color. No markings or numbers. There is a single nylon insert for i think the #8 wire.

I know the question was on '68's - But I want to say that I have never seen the "M' bracket Right side or the "L" bracket on any 69-up HP 440's B-Body and 70-up E-Body. Some of that stuff may be on non-HP 440's in C-body....not sure....

TNT (Chrysler) and 440-A-Body are different in many areas and a whole other topic.

People like Bill A and Frank B can fix you up with the correct 68 stuff.

you got something there MW mentioning C body  :yesnod: :2thumbs:  :coolgleamA:
, never factored this in , when i replied , i'm / was only going by what i found on a  low milage  E series none HP 440 imperial motor , in mine,  when i got it  ,  heads had never been off or oil pan at that point,  believe it or not !!!,  still had a good covering of the original factory applied turquoise paint, thermostat housing had been changed along with water pump  , & had a cam swap at sometime ,  but had the original  correct HP , 992/900  iron exhaust manifolds put back on , & was missing F / L /G brackets  but still had M & N brackets , when the  repop wire brackets came out , just ordered up a kit , & followed the above diagram :P , thought the L bracket odd , had never seen one before , took it back off shortly after fitting ,  been sitting in the draw ever since :-\,

Yes TT - They include a lot of extra stuff not used on all motors. For the most part the diagram is correct....and it was good of you to post it.

Guess the kits available may cover many bodies and years. I was thinking about ordering the brackets from Mancini since I will anyhow order a lot of small parts (bolts, straps, hoses, clamps...) from them. Any opinions on the quality of the Mancini parts? Hmm, need to ask this... Bill A and Frank B?
